innovative and reliable technology products and services as part of our ongoing commitment to
democratize access to investing and financial planning.

Focus is on platform operations and database services (OpenShift/Kubernetes, VMware Data Services
Manager, and PostgreSQL). Day-to-day engineering and production support to provision, operate,
patch, upgrade, backup/restore, and troubleshoot cloud and platform services that host enterprise
database workloads. The role also builds/maintains automation and runbooks (including approved AI-
assisted workflows) to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.

What You Have

-Hands-on engineering role responsible for operating and supporting OpenShift/Kubernetes, VMware, DSM, and PostgreSQL platforms in production
-Focuses on database lifecycle management, platform stability, and incident resolution
-Drives automation, runbook maturity, and AI-assisted workflows to improve efficiency and consistency
-Ensures secure, compliant, and reliable delivery of enterprise database services

Required Qualifications

• Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues using best practices to support live applications

• Integrates strategies that mitigate risks and maintain controlled modifications
• Utilizes best practices in cloud service practices to optimize cloud usage
• Prioritizes compliance, security, and scalability of data systems, and must have current working experience with Schwab processes and systems
• Executes strategies to restore services promptly and address disruptions
• Designs scalable, consistent environments that reduce risk and increase reliability
• Optimizes planning and development through advanced tool integration
• Addresses QA challenges by applying best practices in testing and compliance
• Validates requirements and constraints to support effective development and operations
• Monitors and addresses security policy violations using best practices
• Resolves software design challenges using predictive and adaptive methods
• Applies best practices to build, test, and validate software components while resolving issues
• Consolidates software changes into secure, stable releases using best practices
• Ensures systems align with cloud architectures using modern design methodologies

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
