Position Summary
The Senior Bootcamp Assistant is an integral member of a team responsible for delivering a demanding, immersive, and rapidly-paced technical training bootcamp at CNM Ingenuity (CNMI). They actively engage students by instructing curriculum in a distinctive format designed to transition individuals from basic computer skills to a highly technical career within a condensed timeframe of 10-12 weeks. The senior assistant is involved in teaching, curriculum development, technical project management, technical coaching, and the creation of software, hardware applications, or digital content tailored for learning within the bootcamp environment.
Duties & Responsibilities

• Engages students through a variety of instructional techniques, including developing and delivering lectures and tutorials, providing hands-on demonstrations, project management of student projects, technical coaching, and participating in student team-building activities.

• Assists Ingenuity Consultant in bootcamp management through detailed reviews of code or design projects, grading student assignments and projects, developing assessments and grading rubrics, and other curriculum, and managing daily bootcamp schedules and activities.

• Responsible for product development used in the bootcamp, such as developing software applications or digital content, according to industry standards. Includes developing detailed technical documentation for teaching purposes.

• Assists and evaluates with curriculum development, creating and presenting lecture materials and supplemental curriculum.

• Participates in outreach, including local tech community events that directly support the Bootcamp and Ingenuity initiatives.

• Creates, proctors, and grades assessment exams and quizzes.

• Assists in coordinating activities of support staff, consultants, faculty, and/or volunteers engaged in the implementation and administration of program objectives.

• May temporarily lead bootcamps in absence of Ingenuity Consultant.

• Develops technology solutions for clients.

• Responsible for inventory and maintenance of equipment and facility related to specific bootcamps, including technology infrastructure.

• Analyzes and researches coding industry standards, trends, and technological upgrades to continually be a decision-maker who can ensure that the program remains cutting edge and relevant. Includes engaging in research and development activities.

• Participates in continual professional development activities to maintain current discipline knowledge and instructional methods.

• Prepares students for employer mock interviews, both the technical and Human Resource portions, by maintaining relationships with alumni and industry partners to coordinate interview days.

• Trains all Bootcamp interns.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Three (3) years' related experience as an intern, assistant, or trainer for a technology bootcamp program

• Associate's degree or related certifications are preferred

• Experience in teaching or training is preferred

• A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements of the position

Preferences:

  • Experience in mentoring
  • Proficient in using modern programming languages, frameworks, and development tools
  • Evidence of staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure curriculum relevance.
  • One year's experience in a data science or software development related position
