Position Summary
The PMO Manager responsible for leading and developing a team of IT project managers to deliver technology projects from initiation through completion. You will provide daily leadership of project execution, including planning, resource coordination, issue resolution, and performance monitoring.
Reporting to the PMO Director, the PMO Manager supports the execution of strategic priorities by translating organizational goals into relevant project plans and ensuring consistent delivery across the project portfolio. You will emphasize team development, operational execution, and adherence to PMO standards, governance, and best practices.
The PMO Manager is also responsible for project-level financial oversight, including estimation, budgeting, and cost tracking. Additionally, the PMO Manager monitors project health, mitigates risks, and guides continuous improvement in project delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of project managers, including performance management, goal setting, and professional development
- Oversee the execution of multiple IT projects, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, timelines, and quality standards
- Manage daily resource allocation and project assignments to improve team capacity and delivery outcomes
- Monitor project performance and risks; provide guidance and escalation support to ensure successful delivery
- Conduct project health reviews and audits to ensure adherence to and enforce PMO standards, governance, and methodologies, including driving corrective actions as needed
- Manage project financials, , including budget tracking, forecasting, and cost control, and communicate with the PMO Director
- Partner with the PMO Director to implement strategic projects and improve project delivery capabilities
- Develop standardized tools, templates, and processes to drive consistency and efficiency
- Develop effective relationships with partners, vendors, contract resources, and cross-functional teams
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance PMO practices, reporting, and performance metrics
- Lead a team of project managers, with team size and composition (including contract resources) with care for portfolio demand and organizational priorities
- Oversee a portfolio of medium to large-scale IT projects with cross-functional and enterprise impact, with investment levels varying based on organizational priorities
- Working knowledge of IT project delivery environments and tools (e.g., Agile frameworks, ServiceNow SPM)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field AND Five (5) years of experience in project management, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- OR
- Associate's degree AND Seven (7) years of related experience, including leadership responsibility
