Position Summary
The Business Analyst I creates and defines scope and goals based on both user needs and a thoughtful understanding of business systems, technology available, and industry requirements. The business analyst provides insights and suggest improvements to all software applications. You will work with the software development teams and perform detailed requirement's analysis, documenting processes and coordinating unit, integration and acceptance tests. The business analyst enhances the quality of products and services, the ability to prepare data and data visualizations to inform decisions, and finding technical solutions to needs. The business analyst helps maintain technical applications such as Websites, CRMs, LMS and serves as IT support for technical issues.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Help develop/modifying procedures to solve complex business problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time, and form of desired results.
- Have some technical knowledge of all phases of systems analysis and consider the business possible effects of the application of technology to all business environment.
- Develop written project documentation such as; applications including best practices, processes, user-friendly procedures, project scope, business process document, RACI, and RAID(l) logs.

- Help edit and revise written documentation such as test plans, user stories, use cases, business process model and notation, in collaboration with users.
- Revise and help develop user-friendly procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
- Provide data analyses and ad-hoc reporting through the use of research and query tools.
- Collaborate with the Information Technology Services staff to understand requirements in creating, upgrading, and maintaining of programs, databases, and reports.
- Help compile required metrics by proactively managing multiple data sources. Continually reviews and finds ways to improve current processes for greater efficiencies and reduction in non-value-added activities working in partnership with important partners all partners.
- Create and distribute a concise set of standard reports that provide insight into operational statistics, performance, and trending.
- Participate in a team that develops software applications and interfaces and in the process of uncovering business goals, shaping them in clear and understandable terms, and identifying and evaluating a range of solutions.
- Analyze system problems. Test systems and database functions, upgrades and patches, and new third-party software or hardware implementation to ensure proper functioning of systems.
- Serve as internal developer to develop custom applications for users using low-code technologies. Provide data stewardship for assigned systems for data accuracy, conformity, integrity in accordance with established following policy and procedures.
- Begin to learn and develop reports and dashboards of information using SQL, SAS, or other reporting languages/tools.
- Understand data entry standards according to the data systems data steward guidelines and UI/UX interfaces for assigned systems
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree and two (2) years of related experience including systems implementation experience
- OR
- PMI Professional Certification in Business Analysis (PBA)
- OR
- Other industry-recognized certifications directly related to the responsibilities of the position and four (4) years related experience including systems implementation experience.
Preferences

- Professional Experience in higher education, veteran affairs, and/or non-academic support services
- Experience with SQL, Argos, SAS, Toad, or SQL Developer report writer tools
- Professional experience with Banner, CRM, and/or Workday configuration and reporting
