Position Summary
The Associate Director of Sales and Business Development at CNM Ingenuity (CNMI) plays a crucial role within the Ingenuity Sales and Business Development Team. This position is responsibilities include developing and executing a strategic plan to achieve sales targets, creating awareness, and fostering partnerships with businesses and organizations. The Associate Director of Sales and Business Development is responsible for leading and managing a team of sales to drive revenue growth and expand CNMI's customer base. The Associate Director aims to increase participation in Ingenuity workforce training programs, including open enrollment, contract training, and licensing opportunities. This position also serves as the Salesforce business lead for CNM Ingenuity.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervises, leads, and manages staff, which includes prioritizing, and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy, and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
- Assists in directing processes for the management of inbound leads.
- Manages inbound leads, focusing on converting qualified leads to sales.
- Identifies and implements opportunities for Ingenuity to add value to existing and prospective partners' workforce development priorities.
- Meets objectives of business partners and builds and maintains long-lasting, strong relationships with businesses, organizations, and municipalities.
- Analyzes and shares feedback from current and prospective partners on skill development priorities to inform future program development.
- Oversees Salesforce CRM as the business lead for Ingenuity.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to review and analyze market trends and data to inform successful sales strategies.
- Develops and implements process documentation for new Sales and Business Development team efforts.
- Develops data-informed sales materials including labor market analysis.
- Represents CNM and Ingenuity programs at public events, sometimes working outside regular hours.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and one (1) years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities
- OR
- Associates degree and three (3) years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economic Development, Workforce Development, or a related field preferred; equivalent advanced professional experience in business development, contract negotiation, and pricing strategy will also be considered.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating and advancing contracts or partnership agreements through internal approval or procurement workflows from initiation to execution.
- Experience developing or applying structured pricing or costing methodologies to support contract-based, fee-for-service, or licensed offerings.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a solutions-oriented or design-thinking mindset to ambiguous partner challenges, translating complex needs into actionable workforce training solutions.
- Experience working within higher education, government, or similarly regulated environments that require compliance with procurement, contracting, or approval processes.
- Experience using Salesforce or comparable CRM systems to manage lead pipelines, document partnership activity, and support reporting or forecasting.
