Job Purpose and Impact

Location: York (primary) or Hull, Manchester or London - 3 days per week in office. Position is a permanent full time role Monday-Friday

The Technical Sustainability Analyst joins a small proficient sustainability team supporting Cargill's Bioindustrial buisness (CBI). CBI is a Global business serving non-feed and non-food applications with biobased chemistries, mainly from agricultural products (grains and oilseeds) including construction, dielectric fluids, automotive lubricant systems and cosmetics. The role focuses on supporting sustainability analytics and data driven sustainability assessment though Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and responding to customer ESG enquiries.

Ideal candidates combine LCA expertise, natural curiosity, business acumen and highly structured organisational skills with the ability to translate complex environmental data into decision-ready insights.

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Complete LCA modeling starting with data collection, validation, plausibility checks and modelling based on production processes
  • Respond to customer requests including sustainability data requests e.g. product carbon footprint and ESG queries
  • Support the CBI sustainability team in responding to customer needs


Experience & Skills

  • Ability to translate complex sustainability data into clear, business-relevant insights
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Research & Development, supply chain, and process engineering teams
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (e.g. PCRs, EPDs, TfS) is essential and familiarity with ESG reporting is an advantage


Qualifications

  • Relevant experience including hands-on LCA modeling experience
  • Degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and report writing
  • Advanced proficiency in LCA modelling software, Cargill are using SimaPro but experience in any market equivalent essential
  • Strong knowledge of PCF methodologies and sustainability standards, ideally extending to interpreting PCRs and producing EPDs
  • Experience working with complex datasets and engineering modeling
