Location: Hull (HU6 7PH)

The Mechanical Reliability Engineer will apply technical knowledge to deliver continuous improvement in process and asset reliability through the detection and elimination of defects. In this role, you will apply techniques such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). The role involves close collaboration with technical and operational teams to implement Cargill's Reliability and Maintenance Excellence practices. Additionally, the engineer ensures all projects align with core reliability principles and oversees the execution of maintenance and asset replacement initiatives. A strong foundation in mechanical engineering is essential to provide robust support across the site.

Key Accountabilities

  • Implement moderately complex reliability excellence activities and identify and prioritize reliability engineering value creation opportunities.
  • Execute the development, design and installation of predictive and preventative maintenance programs and technology in alignment with the area procedures.
  • Prepare technical reviews of moderately complex projects and collaborate with related areas on new equipment reliability specifications. Execute maintenance and reliability projects, including asset reliability improvements, defect elimination, and the replacement of various types of process equipment such as piping, pumps, heat exchangers and vessels by applying comprehensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and best practices in maintenance and reliability.
  • Perform the identification and elimination of bad actors and the optimization of equipment availability.
  • Collaborate with and provide guidance to maintenance repairs and production in reliability related processes and the identification of critical spares.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering subject - in place of a degree (HNC/HND) and demonstrated relevant work experience.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience from a heavy industrial processing background (e.g. Chemicals, Biofuels).
  • Solid knowledge in the application of reliability tools.
  • Knowledge in maintenance process management.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience creating complex tests and analysis.
  • Predictive maintenance technologies experience.
