Job Purpose and Impact
The Director, R&D - North Asia Food will lead, coach and develop a team to execute business goals. In this role, you will drive process improvements and use supporting tools and metrics to identify, prioritize and report on the portfolio of new business development projects.
Key Accountabilities
- Coordinate applications development work and ensure that all projects are appropriately staffed.
- Lead the application center, ensuring a safe working environment, food safety compliance, budget and resource management.
- Work closely with sales and marketing leaders on customer segmentation and satisfaction, account planning and the use of sales technology.
- Develop strong customer relationships at key accounts.
- Handle technical budget and metrics and report to stakeholders monthly.
- Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships and trust through technical knowledge and expertise
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
- Minimum of six years of related work experience
- Other minimum qualifications may apply
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in multiple languages
- Experience leading a technical team with staff from multiple locations and disciplines
- Ten or more years in food ingredient technical services, applications or a similar discipline
- Expertise in starches and/or hydrocolloids
- Three years of supervisory experience
