Job Purpose and Impact

The Agile Project Manager Consultant I, will lead project, programs, platforms and product and act as a buffer between the various scrum and waterfall teams to clear obstacles and assist in conflict resolution. In this role, you will lead and oversee multiple projects, product teams and platforms in partnership with other project managers and scrum master colleagues to create self organizing teams that are flexible and fully productive during sprints, oversee and handle the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison among project management and planning and project team. You will recognize areas of strength and improvement and employ appropriate coaching and development techniques to address them. You will lead your assigned portfolio and promote project management and development processes and principles across the organization to facilitate and support the company's initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Partner collaboratively with product, solution and business owners to maintain the backlog and workplan to ensure the needed work is well understood, promote self organization within support teams and avoid or remove internal or external impediments to progress.
  • Organize project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, develop project schedules and resolve resource requirements.
  • Educate and influence key stakeholders in agile, scrum and project management principles and standards and ensure that all support teams adhere to them.
  • Monitor and report on the status of projects including cost, timing and staffing.
  • Foster an environment that empowers and energizes team members, with a focus on accountability, adaptability and collaboration.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hold one or more project management or scrum certifications which can include certified scrum master, professional scrum master or agile certified practitioner.
  • Experience using agile tooling
  • Background as an subject matter expert in relevant project management fields
