Associate Marketing Manager - Retail Prepared Foods

Job Purpose and Impact

The Associate Marketing Manager, Prepared Foods, supports the execution of marketing strategies and priorities across Prepared Foods categories within Cargill Food North America's Retail channel. In this role, you will partner closely with the Marketing Manager and cross-functional teams to activate category strategies, advance innovation initiatives, and deliver customer-focused marketing solutions. By applying strong market, customer, and consumer understanding, you will help translate strategic direction into actionable plans that drive business performance and support category growth.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the execution of the category marketing strategy development for Retail / Prepared Foods in alignment with broader business objectives, providing expertise and using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems.
  • Partner with broader marketing teams and external agencies to plan and execute integrated product or category campaigns and activations, ensuring alignment with budgets and market dynamics while delivering high-quality marketing assets effectively and on time.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to generate and apply insights on customer needs, customer strategies, market trends, consumer behaviors, and competitive dynamics to inform product or category decisions, guide category direction, and support effective priority setting.
  • Support initiatives across innovation, new product development, and co-creation of customer solutions, driving product commercialization and portfolio health through integrated pipeline development, including concept ideation, business assessments, and coordinated project execution.
  • Partner with R&D, Business, and other cross-functional teams to help move innovation concepts from ideas through commercialization.
  • Lead initiatives to improve customer experience for the assigned category by developing and activating differentiated value propositions, while supporting customer engagement plans through crafting compelling selling stories and marketing materials tailored to specific customer needs.
  • Support the development and execution of marketing programs, launches, promotions, and customer-facing materials.
  • Track innovation progress, timelines, and key milestones to ensure initiatives remain aligned with strategic priorities and are delivered on schedule.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, a related field OR equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of 4 years of work experience in a similar role
  • Experience translating insights and data into clear recommendations and action plans
  • Proven experience collaborating cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in food, retail, or consumer-packaged goods marketing
  • Experience supporting marketing strategy execution in a cross-functional, matrixed environment
  • Experience navigating complex organizational structures and influence without direct authority

  • The expected salary for this position is $97,000 to $130,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
