This position is in Cargill's animal nutrition and health business, where we improve animal lives through better nutrition. Our team researches, innovates and creates solutions that deliver healthy results for our customers.
Job Purpose and Impact
Are you passionate about animal safety, quality, and analysis? We are looking for an Animal Care Technician primarily responsible for planning and performing research activities with the goal of developing new or improved products, processes, or services. You will conduct research trials with collecting data that includes animal weighing, feeding, and various types of samplings. You will also be responsible for providing standard animal husbandry and housekeeping duties.

- Basic building and equipment maintenance and troubling shooting to ensure protocol requirements.
- Maintain safe and clean working conditions according to our safety program and meeting animal welfare standards in accordance with animal policies.
- Contribute to continuous evaluation and improvement health issues to include experimental methodology, research daily routines and procedures.
- Coordinate and implement medical care and treatment plans to include monitoring condition of animals; evaluates sick and/or injured animals and collects and records relevant data.
- Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent.
- Basic working knowledge of animal care.
- Minimum of four years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Accredited industry related animal technician license and/or certification.
- Experience operating scales, forklift, feed carts, and pallet jack.
