Job Purpose and Impact
The Market Risk Analyst II will identify, assess and mitigate risk through the application of quantitative analytics, artificial intelligence and data-driven insights. In this role, you will develop risk management procedures, models and processes to ensure adherence to policies, while contributing to the assessment of potential losses and opportunities resulting from market movements. You will also support the development of analytical tools and AI-driven solutions to enhance decision making within the trading organization.
Key Accountabilities
- Assess and communicate information with regard to business risks, market trends and analytical insights with functions across the organization.
- Participate in the development and implementation of controls, quantitative models and data-driven approaches to minimize the organization's risks and enhance commercial decision making.
- Contribute to the estimation of potential financial consequences of market movements through statistical, quantitative and predictive analytics techniques.
- Support the development and application of AI, machine learning and analytical tools to improve risk assessment, forecasting and trading performance.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns and opportunities relevant to trading and risk management activities.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Degree in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or a related discipline preferred.
- Experience working with data analysis tools such as Python, SQL, R or similar technologies.
- Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in AI, machine learning, predictive analytics or quantitative modeling.
- Exposure to commodity markets, trading, risk management or financial markets.
- Experience building analytical models, forecasting tools or decision-support solutions.
- Ability to communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and business stakeholders
