JOB SUMMARY

The Analyst II - Food North America - Product Costing performs moderately complex cost accounting activities to inform business decision making. This job implements the costing process of a moderately complex costing business, including monitoring and identifying deviations, guiding multiple areas to implement solutions and answering business requests. With limited supervision, this job analyses and reports on the costs associated with the production of goods or services within the organization to identify insights and enable the optimization of cost efficiency. This job also supports partnerships with cross functional teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and implements cost saving opportunities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • COST VARIANCE ANALYSIS: Analyses and reconciles cost variances, including comparing actual costs to budgeted costs and analysing any variance to gain insights into the efficiency and effectiveness of cost management practices, find opportunities for improvement, implement additional controls and corrective actions, and inform decisions to control costs.
  • DOCUMENTATION: Prepares and maintains accurate cost accounting records to ensure historical costs are available for future analysis.
  • COLLABORATION: Collaborates with cross functional teams to support moderately complex cost control initiatives including pricing strategy development, profitability analysis and cost optimization projects.
  • DECISION SUPPORT: Provides financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision making, including pricing, product profitability and make or buy decisions.
  • COST ANALYSIS & REPORTING: Provides moderately complex analysis, in partnership with other teams, to prepare reports for internal partners, including analysis of direct and indirect costs to produce goods and services, inventory valuation, cost of goods and services sold, and variance analysis.
  • BUDGETING & FORECASTING: Implements the budgeting and forecasting process, providing input on cost assumptions, projections and budget inputs.

MINIMUM & TYPICAL YEARS OF WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 3 years or more of relevant experience.
  • Experience within an activity-based costing environment.
  • Experience working with related ERP/SAP and planning tools.
  • Fluency in English (supporting product costing for North American production plants in USA and Canada).


Preferred qualifications
  • Experience working with in financial analysis for operations stakeholders in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PowerBI/Data Visualizations.
