Strategic Card Partnerships Manager - Business Development (Hybrid)
This is an exciting time for Capital One Card Partnerships, as we are looking to expand our business aggressively in the partner credit card segment, not only through organic growth in existing programs, but also through acquisitions of new card partners, which is the focus of this role. The ideal candidate will influence Capital One's business development strategy for new partnerships, and lead the translation of that strategy into successful identification and recruitment of future partners.
In this Manager role, you will help drive Capital One's new partner acquisition strategy, including both identification of target businesses and developing the targeted approach and story that helps Capital One win each business we pursue.
You will work with a cross functional team to:
- Identify and evaluate potential partner companies and brands
- Work across the organization to develop and consolidate a tailored pitch strategy for winning each business we compete for including:
- Company & Customer research and development of insights
- Working across teams to develop a point of view around the consumer value proposition
- Crafting program positioning and omni-channel marketing plans
- Manage internal and external teams, strategies and materials for each round of an RFP, including written and verbal presentations
- Assist with transitioning newly-won business from the business development team to our vertical business units
Responsibilities:
- Perform marketplace and industry analyses with the goal of identifying product opportunities, and uncovering potential market and partner plays
- In partnership with a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders, manage internal and external RFP deadlines while supporting the RFP process for new partners
- Research specific partner and customer needs, and incorporate into partnership pitches
- Design, develop, and manage project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or military experience
- At least 4 years of experience in Project or Process Management
- At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office or G Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Master's degree
- 5+ years experience in Project or Process Management leading cross-functional projects
- 2+ years experience in financial services
- 2+ years experience in business analysis
- 2+ year experience in business development and external relationship management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Chicago, IL: $144,000 - $164,400 for Manager, Business Development
McLean, VA: $158,400 - $180,800 for Manager, Business Development
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
