"I can succeed as an Investment Product Specialist at Capital Group."

Overview

The Investment Product Specialist (IPS) team is part of the Asset Class Services (ACS) team within Capital Group's (CG) Europe and Asia business. IPS partners with the team of Investment Directors (ID) to deliver deep expertise on CG's investment strategies both internally and externally. Collectively they are the voice of CG's investment strategies. The IPS and ID teams are two sides of the same coin, the ID is focused on being the external voice, while the IPS is focused on internal partners and stakeholders. IPS also plays an important role in thinking strategically about the growth and evolution of its product coverage, partnering closely with Client and Marketing teams to unlock additional growth opportunities.

The individual in this role will take a lead role in representing our Future Generations Equity and Multi-Asset strategies which make up our flagship Sustainability offering. The individual will also play a role in articulating CG's broader approach to Sustainability & Governance (S&G), working in close partnership with the dedicated Sustainability Specialists Team (SST). The individual will need to develop a deep understanding of the Future Generations investment process as well as our ESG integration process. They will partner closely with the Future Generations Investment Director, Global Equity and Multi-Asset Investment Directors to develop strategy positioning and investment insights that support the business and client engagement.

The successful candidate will be able to synthesize complex investment and S&G information into clear, credible content that enables CG associates to communicate effectively about our approach.

The individual must be comfortable working across asset classes and collaborating with other Investment Product Specialists to support consistency in product-specific messaging. Each Investment Product Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering messaging, including S&G-related content, within their respective product areas, with the Future Generations IPS serving as an escalation point to provide subject matter expertise on complex product-specific S&G issues. Self-motivation, intellectual curiosity and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and geographies will be critical.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Future Generations Investment Director to develop a deep understanding of investment ideas, strategy and positioning across the Future Generations Equity and Multi-Asset range. In addition, to build strong relationships with the Investment Directors responsible for Global Equity and Multi-Asset strategies, and collaborate closely with other IPS colleagues as appropriate.
  • Drive investment content and narrative that supports client engagement and facilitates the effective delivery of portfolio, market and S&G insights at client meetings, conferences and other external engagements.
  • Develop key messages that position and differentiate Capital Group's Future Generations Equity and Multi-Asset strategies, tailoring them for regional, country and investor-segment needs as appropriate.
  • Support the production of the Future Generation Fund's Annual Sustainability Report.
  • Serve as an escalation point for the broader IPS team for certain complex S&G requirements, in partnership with SST.
  • Partner with the SST to understand and articulate CG's approach to sustainability-related subjects and initiatives, contributing an investment-product perspective to such work. This includes the development of customised separate account mandates based on FGGO/FGGBAL.
  • Drive the creation and maintenance of Future Generations-focused content for new business books, client meetings, conferences, marketing and product-positioning activity, fluency training, thought leadership and other stakeholder requests.
  • Works with SST and other key stakeholders to analyse ESG market trends, competitive dynamics, regulator developments and evolving investor requirements, assessing the implications for Capital Group's product offering, positioning and client conversations
  • Be a champion for S&G, and build collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders across Europe, Asia and North America by understanding their priorities and demonstrating the value of partnership in achieving shared goals.
  • Use technology and market-data tools effectively to improve the quality, responsiveness and efficiency of analysis and content development
