"I can succeed as a Capital Markets Associate."
As a Capital Markets Associate you will be responsible for managing and negotiating equity and equity-linked off-board, large-scale transactions on behalf of the three CG investment groups ( CII - Capital International Investors, CRGI - Capital Research Global Investors, CWI - Capital World Investors). You will be responsible for leading the investment group through CG's equity capital markets (ECM) process and keeping the group informed of other public and private liquidity events. Additionally, you will work closely with internal constituents (PMs & Analysts, Legal, Trading, Investment Control) and create a reliable network of external counterparts via Capital Group relationships (Banking, Syndicate, Venture, Sponsors) in order to obtain better-than-historical outcomes for our shareholders.
- Negotiate and manage all IPO & Secondary transactions from pre-deal dialogue to execution
- Maintain regular dialogue with the banking community in order to determine what liquidity events may be on the horizon
- Read internal research published across the three units and attend as many weekly investment group meetings as possible in order to determine what events are relevant
- Anticipate potential liquidity events and opportunities based on public information and outline the potential event to PMs & Analysts on a group and individual basis, when applicable

- Take leadership on all private transactions and opportunities when cleared by Legal
- Prepare Legal with a proactive list of potential transactions discussed in the public realm a CG PM or Analyst would like to work on
- Provide Investment Control with deal information in order to build assets and assess fund suitability when needed
- Communicate deal color with Trading as it develops, once public
- Document and update deal progress in the Issuance Event Tracker

- You have 3 or more years of experience working in the financial industry
- You are a proficient user of valuation methods and terms
- You thrive building relationships internally and externally
- You have a strong ability to multi-task, handling multiple deal dialogues at the same time
- You're comfortable working quickly and efficiently and often in time-sensitive situations
- You can communicate professionally yet efficiently, both when speaking and writing and specific experience with regards to financial instruments preferred
- You have exceptional organizational skills, ensuring no disaggregated information is inadvertently shared
- MBA or CFA preferred but not mandatory, progress towards either is appreciated

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
