Overview

This Core Operations Lead Analyst plays a pivotal role in shaping and leading the operational delivery of institutional separate accounts (SA), particularly across Europe. This role requires deep expertise in investment operations, strong project management capabilities, and a strategic mindset to drive scalable solutions and continuous improvement across our Investment Operations (IO) ecosystem.

You will lead risk assessment and influence business decision-making, balancing operational needs while maximizing client value. Identify business and operational risks, determine impacts within the company and to clients, and implement solutions that support business and relationship needs.

Lead Analysts possess the experience, judgement, and business knowledge to analyse and implement solutions for the most complex and/or ambiguous challenges. This knowledge base includes an in-depth understanding of the Capital System investment process, the securities and investment business, and operational functions.

The role requires:

  • leading and facilitating collaboration between multiple global teams to achieve the necessary business outcomes
  • Ability to build and nurture relationships with internal stakeholders and external business partners (e.g., custodian banks)
  • serving as a coach and mentor to team members by providing the leadership, direction, positive environment and support in the assessment and resolution of issues escalated by Analysts and Preparers.
  • Demonstrating a growth mindset, and
  • proactively identifying, driving, and implementing continuous improvements through process design, automation, and workflow simplification.

The Lead Analyst role is often called on to lead large, complex, ambiguous, and/or cross-functional internal or external projects.

This distinct role acts as a central lead analyst connection point across Investment Operations (IO), particularly between Core Operations cross-functional teams (Core Ops), Global Client Services and Europe and Asia Client Groups (GCS/EACG) and other internal/external stakeholders (e.g., custodians, other client intermediaries, etc.) for efficient and effective delivery of operational separate account (SA) onboarding and post-onboarding activity support.

Including but not limited to central leadership of strategic coordination and communication across Investment Operations to triage issues and solution complex, ambiguous, often first-time situations. The role includes limited operational production responsibilities (e.g., custodian onboarding forms/operating memorandums, accounting system set-ups/maintenance, asset transfers, cash flow processing/initial funding, and client inquiries/custom operational requests).

Serves as a primary Core Operations contact for European SA client custodians and other intermediaries, engaging Core Ops cross- functional teams as needed. In close partnership with Core Ops managers/ specialists, contributes to and drives Core Ops priorities to deliver on the institutional business/IO's long-term vision. Operates with broad independence and limited oversight.

Prepares and delivers written and oral communication that is customized to meet the needs of various internal and external stakeholders. Builds and maintains strong global relationships. Anticipates future business needs and partners with Core Ops management/specialists to identify and execute opportunities for continued improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Lead day-to-day production oversight and institutional segregated account (SA) operational launch activities, ensuring timely and accurate task execution that supports scalable and reliable delivery for clients while also supporting a seamless client experience.
  • Serve as initial escalation point for complex, ambiguous, or first-time issues related to SA onboarding and post-onboarding activities, apply structured problem solving to drive resolution.
  • Act as a primary Core Ops contact for European SA custodians and intermediaries, with flexibility to support global workflows as needed
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution and issue resolution, balancing client/custodian expectations with operational feasibility. Proactively identify impacted stakeholders and engage collaboratively to implement solutions that minimize disruption and promote process clarity.

Strategic Execution

  • Shape and align Core Ops goals with broader IO and Capital Group business priorities, ensuring client focus and fit for purpose and future ready operational strategies.
  • Collaborate amongst peers to manage global work allocation to optimize capacity and ensuring consistent service levels.
  • Assist management in forecasting growth needs.
  • Drive strategic coordination and communication across IO to triage and solve complex challenges with a focus on client outcomes, simplification, and long-term sustainability.
  • Contribute to and lead roadmap initiatives that support long-term institutional business vision, including infrastructure modernization and process evolution.

Project & Process Innovation

  • Lead cross-departmental projects focused on process improvement, automation, and scalability.
  • Serve as product owner for new technologies, defining vision, requirements, testing, and release plans that enhance internal capabilities and reduce manual effort.
  • Champion continuous improvement (CI), citizen development (CD), and managing with data (MwD) initiatives.
  • Represent Core Operations at industry seminars, client meetings, and internal committees, contributing to thought leadership and best practices.

Team Development & Mentorship

  • Provide mentorship and development support across all levels of associates helping to build a high-performing and adaptable team.
  • Identify knowledge gaps and lead training efforts to build team agility, technical depth, and cross-functional awareness.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, inclusion, and psychological safety.
  • Partner with management to grow department capabilities, drive performance management, and represent Core Operations with internal and external clients and stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Breadth of understanding of the Financial Services industry and institutional investment operations (banking operations, fixed income/derivatives experience is a plus).
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple assignments with the ability to adjust priorities that meet changing client timelines/requests.
  • Proven ability to effectively challenge status quo and drive forward-looking change across multiple global investment operations teams that produce high quality outcomes.
  • Proven ability to make good decisions and successfully manage ambiguity when things are not certain or the way forward is not clear.
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, sound judgement and comfort leading through more ambiguous/complex first-time through situations across multiple global investment operations teams.
  • Demonstrates comfortably maneuvering through complex process and people-related organizational dynamics with frequent Sr Leader visibility.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Fluency or working proficiency in French or German is a plus.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
