Job Title: Principal Application Engineer (Team Lead)

Location: Katowice, Poland

Reports to: Application Engineering Group Director

Job Overview:

As an AE Team Lead for Emulation and Prototyping, you will lead and develop a team of Application Engineers supporting customers in deploying Cadence's emulation and prototyping solutions.

This is a customer-facing leadership role combining technical expertise, hands-on problem solving, and team development. You will play a key role in helping customers achieve successful outcomes while supporting and growing your team.

The role is based in the Cadence Katowice office and follows a remote engagement model, primarily supporting customers in Israel.

Job Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and support the development of a team of Application Engineers
  • Provide technical guidance and contribute hands-on when needed
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment

Customer Success & Engagement

  • Support successful customer outcomes across emulation engagements
  • Build strong working relationships with customer engineering teams
  • Act as a point of escalation for technical challenges
  • Align team activities with broader account objectives

Technical Leadership

  • Contribute to the design and deployment of emulation and prototyping solutions
  • Guide debugging, acceleration flows, and development methodologies
  • Support evaluations, benchmarks, and proof-of-concept (PoC) activities

Execution & Delivery

  • Support delivery of pre-sales and post-sales engagements
  • Partner with account teams on technical initiatives
  • Manage multiple priorities across customers and projects

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, R&D, and global Application Engineering teams
  • Help ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated and addressed

Job Qualifications:

Must-have Skills & Experience

  • Experience in SoC (System-on-Chip) design and/or verification
  • Hands-on experience with emulation or FPGA prototyping
  • Strong debug skills (e.g. RTL using SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL)
  • Understanding of verification methodologies (e.g. UVM)
  • Experience supporting customers or working in customer-facing technical roles
  • Ability to collaborate with distributed teams and remote customers

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Experience mentoring, guiding, or leading engineers (formal or informal leadership experience welcomed)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Typically, 8+ years of relevant experience
