IT Engineer (1-year Contract)

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on IT Systems Engineer (Contractor) to support daily IT operations at our Adelaide office. This role will focus on end-user computing support, IT asset management, procurement and deployment of IT equipment, and close collaboration with global IT teams. The position will also play an important role in supporting IT activities during the transition and integration period following company acquisitions.

The successful candidate will act as the local IT point of contact, ensuring stable, secure, and efficient IT services while working closely with regional and global stakeholders.

End-User Support & IT Operations

  • Provide day-to-day IT support for end users, including laptops, desktops, operating systems, standard business applications, peripherals, and collaboration tools.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and basic connectivity issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support user onboarding and offboarding activities, including device preparation, access coordination with global teams, and equipment recovery.

Systems & Workplace Technology Support

  • Install, configure, and maintain end-user computing environments (Windows and/or macOS).
  • Provide basic support for local office IT infrastructure, including network connectivity, printers, and meeting room A/V systems.
  • Perform routine checks, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure system availability and performance.

IT Asset Management

  • Manage IT fixed assets, including asset tagging, inventory tracking, lifecycle management, and periodic audits.
  • Maintain accurate records in asset management system (CMDB) and ensure compliance with corporate IT asset policies.
  • Coordinate repair, replacement, and disposal of IT equipment in line with company standards.

Procurement, Deployment & Installation

  • Support procurement of IT hardware and accessories, including coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Install, configure, test, and deploy IT equipment for end users and meeting rooms.
  • Ensure all deployed equipment complies with corporate standards, security requirements, and documentation practices.

Project Support & Global Collaboration

  • Work closely with global IT teams to support regional IT initiatives.
  • Provide on-site or local execution support for system rollouts, upgrades, migrations, and urgent incidents.

M&A and Transition Support

  • Deliver hands-on IT support during merger and acquisition transition phases.
  • Assist with stabilizing IT operations during post-acquisition periods under the guidance of global IT teams.
  • Complete IT-related transition tasks according to project plans and timelines.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Create and maintain basic technical documentation, user guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as required.
  • Adhere to corporate IT policies, security standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Follow established incident management, change management, and escalation processes.

Requirement

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, systems engineering, desktop support, or similar roles.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems and common enterprise applications.
  • Proven experience with hardware troubleshooting, device deployment, and IT asset management.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts such as LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and TCP/IP.
  • Experience supporting users in a corporate or enterprise environment.
  • Clear and professional communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively with global teams.
  • Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and a customer-service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Previous experience supporting teams that use CI/CD tools or workflows. (Preferred)
