Job Title: Intern (12 Month Placement)
Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom
Reports to: AE Director
Job Overview:
Gain hands-on experience over a 12-month placement using Cadence's industry-leading IC design tools on real-world engineering challenges. As an Intern you will work on technical design and verification problems across a broad range of disciplines, including:
- Analog design
- Digital design
- Design verification
- Integrated Circuits (IC)
- Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design
Eligibility & Placement Requirements:
- This role is open only to students currently enrolled in a university degree programme.
- The 12-month placement must form an assessed or accredited part of the student's degree (e.g. industrial/ professional placement or year-in-industry).
- Students should be studying a relevant discipline, such as Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- The placement is based on-site in Cambridge, United Kingdom, for the full duration.
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom for the full duration of the placement.
- Where applicable, applicants must hold a valid visa covering the entire 12-month placement period, with no restrictions that would prevent full-time employment.

Responsibilities:
- You will become an active member of a professional engineering team, contributing to live projects within your assigned business unit.
- Engage in direct interaction with customers, gaining insight into real customer challenges and requirements.
- Build strong technical knowledge in electronic design automation (EDA) through practical application of Cadence's cutting-edge tools.
- Take part in structured technical training courses to support continuous learning and development
- Experience a fully immersive engineering placement, providing exposure to day-to-day work in the semiconductor industry
- Learn about the latest technologies, methodologies, and industry challenges through:
- Collaboration with experienced engineers
- Customer engagement
- Seminars, projects, and technical discussions
- Develop deep expertise in Cadence tools, workflows, and design methodologies
