Electrical Engineer
Overview
BRPH is looking for a Junior Level Electrical Engineer for the Lockheed Martin Facility in Orlando, Florida. The Jr. Electrical Engineer provides integral support to the department's core production group on a variety of complex and challenging projects, while being professionally mentored by senior level engineers and provided with continuous hands-on training to ensure a successful career path.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare load calculations, specify, and coordinate layouts of electrical equipment, and perform power, lighting, lighting controls, grounding, lightning protection, communications, and fire alarm system design, and produce construction documents using REVIT or AutoCAD under the direction and supervision of senior engineers.Perform basic electrical calculations such as: short circuit and voltage drop.
- Perform photometry calculations for normal and emergency lighting using lighting calculation software.
Participate in inter-discipline project coordination. - Visit construction sites to review, monitor, and report construction progress.
- Follow the department's quality control vision through performing designer checks on construction documents.
- Participate in the department training plan and the firm's mentor-ship program.

Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• 0-4 years of experience in Architecture and Engineering field.
• A positive and professional attitude that is centered on personal development to take advantage of all the career advancement opportunities within the department.
• Must be a US Citizen
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building and energy conservation codes.
• Basic knowledge of REVIT, AutoCAD, AGi32, Microsoft Visual, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft OneNote.
• Passed the FE exam and is a current Engineer in Training (E.I.T.), or is in active preparation to take the FE exam.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• The work is semi-sedentary work and requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Manual dexterity, hearing, mental acuity, typing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.
• Ability to navigate and move around the construction site, which may involve walking,
climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Ability to stand and sit for periods longer than 30 minutes but not to exceed two hours consecutively.
• Ability to control behavior when encountering stressful situations or short deadlines and to maintain a high level of concentration.
• Ability to print and draw letters, numbers, words, characters, and symbols that are legible and understood by others.
• Ability to learn complex tasks and remember how to complete tasks without assistance once trained.
