Site Reliability Engineer

As a SRE, you will be responsible for the availability, performance, security, and scalability of our infrastructure and applications. You will work closely with the development and operations teams to streamline the software development lifecycle, automate processes, and maintain systems to ensure they are reliable and scalable. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects, helping to drive our SRE practices within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring & Incident Response:Develop and enhance monitoring systems (e.g.,Datadog) and lead incident response for production outages, working on root cause analysis and prevention.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC):Design and maintain scalable infrastructure using tools likeChef, Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- System Reliability:Ensure the stability, performance, and scalability ofLinux-based infrastructure and services, leveraging SRE practices to achieve reliability targets (SLAs, SLOs, SLIs).
- CI/CD Pipelines:Build, manage, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate code deployment and testing, ensuring rapid and safe release cycles.
- Automation:Develop and implement scripts and tooling to automate repetitive operational tasks.
- Security & Compliance:Collaborate with security teams to ensure that DevOps practices adhere to security and compliance standards (e.g., vulnerability scanning, secure configurations).
- Collaboration:Work closely with development, operations, and QA teams to foster a DevOps culture and contribute to a robust engineering process.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management:Design and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS, Azure, GCP, or other cloud environments.
- Performance Tuning:Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in systems and applications, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Monitoring & Logging:Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such asDatadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
- Automation Tools:Proficiency in automation tools such asChef, Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation, Jenkins for pipelines.
- Operating Systems:Strong hands-on experience withLinuxsystem administration, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and security hardening.
- Experience:7+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or similar role.
- Containerization & Orchestration:Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes, including managing clusters in production environments.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC):Expertise in implementing IaC best practices to automate provisioning and configuration of infrastructure.
- Scripting:Strong scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python, or Go for automating tasks and building tooling.
- Version Control:Expertise in Git for version control and code collaboration.
- CI/CD:Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar.
- Agile & DevOps Practices:Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and infrastructure automation.

- Cloud Certification:AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, DevOps Expert, or similar certifications.

- Experience with Microservices:Understanding of microservices architecture and deploying microservices at scale.

Compensation
Salary Range: CAD $100,000 - $125,000. Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location
