Broadridge is growing! We are currently recruiting a Machinist to join our dynamic Production Operations team in El Dorado Hills.

We are made up of high performing teams that meet in person to learn and collaborate as needed. This is an on-site role that will be assigned to a Broadridge location where you will work 100% of the time.

Machinists are responsible for the manufacturing of parts for prototypes, spare parts, production parts, and repair using machining equipment. They work in close contact with engineers in the development and manufacture of prototypes. They produce spare parts for equipment that has already been released to production and manufacture new parts for project builds of production systems. Machinists are on call for emergency repair and equipment breakdowns.

Responsibilities:

  • Be proficient at Heliarc, Arc, Mig, Flux Core, Stick and Gas Welding. Also, be proficient at Brazing, Silver Soldering, and Soft Soldering to manufacture welded parts.
  • Be proficient at sheet metal manufacturing. Use shears, breaks, and other sheet metal tools in the manufacturing of parts.
  • Check part dimensions using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Determine operating methods and sequences. Lay out, set up and fabricate precision parts and fixtures.
  • Give technical advice to other internal departments and design, create, and/or repair plant equipment, mechanical pumps, blowers, and large equipment.
  • Maintain and repair departmental equipment and clean work area.
  • Manufacture parts to specifications using complex shop calculations.
  • Manufacture prototypes while working with designers and engineers in the developmental stages.
  • Program and operate numerically controlled equipment and operate manual mills, lathes, drill presses, saws, and grinders to manufacture parts to specifications.
  • Use a variety of hand tools, measuring tools, and equipment to manufacture parts to specifications.
  • Work from blueprints, rough sketches, and/or verbal instructions to fabricate a variety of complex machined and/or fabricated components.
  • Adaptability/Flexibility: Demonstrates ability to handle a fast, ever-changing environment. Demonstrates a willingness and ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change. Sees more than one way to accomplish things and accepts/adapts to new or alternative approaches. Demonstrates a willingness and ability to perform various jobs and functions as assigned.
  • Advanced Math Skills: Demonstrates ability to work with concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Demonstrates ability to create and interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Estimates job requirements (labor & equipment).
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrates ability to separate information or problems into smaller parts to understand them more fully; thoughtfully considers data before drawing conclusions and/or able to grasp complexities and perceive relationships among problems or issues. Able to interpret information, think critically and identify trends.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrates ability to conduct a precise and thorough review of materials/documents. Demonstrates a sensitivity to the details of the work and is aware of each step in a process or application; is accurate in carrying out process and procedures.
  • Decision Making Ability: Demonstrates ability to make logical and sensible decision based on available job knowledge/information, in a variety of situations. Considers potential consequences (including others' views and emotions) prior to choosing a course of action; accepts and/or uses appropriate authority to make decision; proceeds with confidence once decisions are made.
  • Document Utilization: Demonstrates ability to interpret and work with training and/or technical documentation.
  • Equipment Operations Knowledge: Understands overall operation of equipment and their interrelations. Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot and isolate failures.
  • Initiative: Demonstrates ability and discipline to work independently with little or no supervision. Acts without being told procedurally what to do each step of the way; suggests improvements; seeks increasing responsibility.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates ability to work in a diverse group environment. Relates well and shows respect and consideration for others; builds relationships.
  • Job Knowledge: Understands and applies industry/job standards, regulations and rules. Understands what is required to perform the job; knows what the group is responsible for and what the supporting groups are responsible for; has a general understanding of the group's goals and objectives.
  • Mechanical Ability: Demonstrates ability to safely use a wide range of tools and equipment/machinery. Possess a mechanical aptitude.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-secondary education with Journeyman Machinist Status and 3-10 years of related experience preferred.
Shift:

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Compensation:

$23.86-$31.20 Hourly USD - Bonus Eligible
