Senior Strategic Growth Associate - Flights
Role Overview
The Flights vertical is one of the fastest growing areas of our Booking.com. Our goal is to offer each customer the easiest experience to find and book the right flight, with the ambition to create a whole new way to experience air travel that's convenient, intuitive and ultimately more traveler-friendly.
The Flights Strategic Growth Team is a part of the Flights Commercial Track and its main responsibility is to identify, assess,plan for and execute the initiatives that would ensure sustainable growth of the business. The team consists of people from different crafts.
The Sr Strategic Growth Associate is expected to manage strategic and/or commercial initiatives end-to-end, scoping well structured projects, developing well evaluated recommendations to facilitate leadership decisions, supporting/leading the execution of plans in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Be an advocate of the healthy and sustainable growth of the Flights business
- Define problems and scope well structured projects to address those problems.
- Lead and/or support in-depth evaluation of commercial/strategic initiatives; ensure expected impact, feasibility and risks are well assessed from various angles.
- Perform analytical tasks with rigor and high degree of objectivity.
- Identify and map out different resources to be utilized for a comprehensive evaluation of initiatives; liaise with respective teams to build the right and continuous way of using those resources
- Communicate recommendations supported by a compelling storyline and data to key stakeholders to ensure impact, build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision-making
- Prepare high quality presentation and written materials
- Translate business decisions into well defined projects, create action plans and drive the execution of those plans
- Inform and play an active role in the roadmap definition and prioritization
- Own the execution of the framework that is developed to understand and improve the business position and performance in selected key live markets. This entails performing 360° assessment of the market, developing a full improvement plan and phasing the execution by aligning with relevant teams
- Support in defining a long term vision and strategy for existing and/or new products and partnerships.
- Proactively identify ways to create efficiency in the way of working with the other teams in Flights and supporting functions; create playbooks, provide input for joint roadmaps...etc
Role Qualifications and Requirements
- 5+ years experience in developing and driving the execution of strategic initiatives at a consulting firm and/or corporate strategy/development/planning
- Ability to distill complex business issues and strategies to highlight insights and actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner
- Able to translate complex problems into simpler tasks
- Sense of ownership, with an agile and pragmatic approach to driving execution
- Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations and deal with ill defined business problems
- Strong analytical thinking with a track record in identifying and using both qualitative and quantitative insights to draw conclusions
- Proven experience in managing projects to fcull cycle across multiple departments and stakeholders
- Structured approach in creating and executing on the action plans and in communicating the progress
- Pragmatic, solution oriented and results-focused
- Team player with strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills
- Master degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or other related field (preferred)
- Bonus if you have experience in the travel, tech, e-commerce or aviation industry
