About the team
Booking.com has a vision to make every trip a Connected Trip. As the Solutions Architect for Data & AI, you will join the architecture team of the Marketplace business function. Marketplace is responsible for the overall traveller experience and is responsible for defining and driving our product vision.
You will be joining Booking.com at an incredible moment in our history. The Connected Trip strategy is driving significant change to our technology landscape, making the importance of architecture greater than ever before. You will join a team of cross functional technology leaders who support the organisation in defining its strategy and providing architectural guidance to product development teams.
Responsible for:
- Defining and evolving the architectural north star for the Data & AI organisation within the Marketplace business unit of Booking.com.
- Partnering with leaders of product, engineering and data on the formation of data and technology strategy.
- Translation of strategy into executable plans that balance pace of delivery with long-term evolution of platform capability.
- Leading enterprise architecture for the deployment of Generative AI into the platforms and experiences that serve our customers, both travellers and partners.
- Embedding strong architectural practices across the engineering teams within Marketplace Data & AI.
- Continuously evaluate the external technology landscape to ensure Booking.com is leveraging the best available technologies.
- Driving an aligned architecture vision between the Marketplace owned Data & AI Platforms and the Data & Machine Learning Platforms owned by Central Technology.
- Working with stakeholders across the organization to incorporate the adoption of platform capabilities into their target architectures and delivery roadmaps.

Qualifications & Experience:
- 12+ years of relevant technical experience, including 5+ years operating in senior individual contributor roles (Solutions Architect, Distinguished Engineer, Principal Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer) within large organizations.
- Experience leading architecture within platform organizations, with a proven track record of building self-service platforms that empower engineering teams to operate with autonomy and high velocity.
- Proven track record of contributing to the formation of data and technology strategy. Experience taking the lead on these strategic initiatives is highly beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to shape the architectural vision, strategy, and roadmap for complex, organization-wide programs.
- Deep technical expertise in designing and developing large-scale, high-performance data platforms.
- Experience guiding the architecture of end-to-end ML systems, bridging the gap between offline feature engineering and real-time model serving.
- Strong technical understanding of modern AI systems, encompassing agentic frameworks, dynamic orchestration, vector databases, and the evaluation frameworks necessary for deploying reliable LLM applications.
- Proven experience delivering solutions that handle security, data regulation, compliance standards, and privacy requirements.
- Extensive hands-on experience delivering cloud-native architectures.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to use data to influence and drive decisions.
- Strong customer focus and passion for doing the right thing for the customer.
