Senior Product Manager - Connected Trip - Trip Planning Save (Fixed-Term Contract)
About Us: At Booking.com, data drives our decisions. Technology is at our core and innovation is everywhere. But our company is more than datasets, lines of code or A/B tests. We're the thrill of the first night in a new place. The excitement of the following morning. The friends you make. The journeys you take. The sights you see. And the food you sample. Through our products, partners and people, we can empower everyone to experience the world.
Role Description:
This role is based in Amsterdam and is a 7-month fixed-term contract.
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join the Connected Trip - Trip Planning Mission for a high-visibility, 8-month project. The candidate will serve as a primary architect of our evolution into a trip-centric model.
This role manages significant organizational complexity, overseeing the Wishlist experience and Maps scope. The candidate will lead the charge on new AI-powered customer experiences, driving a strategy that helps users save and organize travel inspiration across the entire Booking.com ecosystem.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Product Strategy & Vision
- Drive Strategy: Own and set the 1-year vision for the Wishlist and Trip Centric Maps scope, ensuring alignment with the broader Track strategy.
- NPD Leadership: Operate in a fast-paced, "New Product Development" style environment, taking complex AI products from 0 to 1.
- Marketplace Intent: Stay ahead of evolving customer needs to lead the charge on how users organize travel inspiration.
- Define Outcomes: Be a key contributor to the overall trip planning mission goals - "more travellers planning more of their trips with Booking and being happy about it" and define and drive specific goals for Maps and Wishlist usage.
Product Delivery
- Mission-Level Execution: Lead bi-weekly mission sprints, managing a roadmap of high technical and organizational complexity.
- Risk Management: Identify dependencies across multiple areas/teams early-on, ensuring the roadmap stays on track during this critical 8-month window.
- Tactical Excellence: Partner with your team to establish delivery methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) that optimize ROI.
Data Fluency & Customer Insight
- Advanced Analytics: Define primary, supporting, and counter-metrics for trip-planning features. Apply sophisticated experimentation techniques to AI-powered features.
- Insight Distillation: Use a mix of qualitative (interviews/surveys) and quantitative data to uncover unmet user needs in the trip-planning journey.
- Research Leadership: Develop research briefs in collaboration with Data Science and Insights teams to tackle complex questions about user intent.
Stakeholder Management & Tech Fluency
- High Visibility: Manage expectations and provide clear, concise updates up to the Director level (and occasionally LT).
- Cross-Vertical Alignment: Act as a fluent spokesperson for the Mission, generating alignment across department borders.
- Technical Partnership: Partner with Engineering Managers to advocate for the customer in technical tradeoff decisions, ensuring solutions are scoped for long-term business needs.
