The Senior Manager - Marketing Channel Strategy & Operations will work alongside the Marketing Leadership Team, the Channel Leadership teams, and their respective areas, located at our HQ office in the center of Amsterdam.
This role will contribute to the success of Booking.com by influencing the strategic marketing direction, the channel mix, go-to-market plans, and leading strategic projects for the various marketing channels. The responsibilities are focused on (but not exhaustive to):
- Facilitating the direction of marketing wide strategic initiatives
- Leading and coordinating strategic projects focused on increasing effectiveness and efficiency of the channel(s) and channel mix
- Providing structure, connecting channel initiatives to the overarching marketing and company strategy (in collaboration with the Strategy function) and overseeing long term strategic planning (in collaboration with the Business Operations function)
In this position you will be playing a key role by effectively helping to run the department and to accelerate strategic projects, coordinating collaboration between different parts - of your designated area - executing independent analysis and delivering actionable recommendations on topics such as (performance) marketing strategy, channel mix, marketing measurement, budget management and investment cases.

We are looking for a results-driven, rigorous problem-solver with a sharp analytical mind, who is able to think creatively and has excellent communication skills. This role needs experience and expertise within performance marketing, especially an understanding of ROI driven trading and PPC, SEO, Meta search, and affiliate marketing. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who gets excited about the opportunity to solve key strategic and operational questions in a data-driven environment to improve our cross-channel Marketing plans and enable long term Booking.com success to achieve our vision to make it easy for everyone to experience the world.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Together with the MLT and the Channel VPs and their teams, ensure there is a clear strategic direction for the Marketing Channels (and display the ability to Influence that direction). From that, lead and/or coordinate strategic projects to drive the strategy forward.
- Lead strategic projects in and across the various performance marketing channels that contribute to revenue, profit and customer growth.
- Support the creation of business cases for new investment, working with internal stakeholders and topic specialists in coordination with central Biz/Fin Ops within Marketing.
- Prepare presentations for senior management
- Utilize change, risk and resource management where needed and assess program performance with the aim to maximize ROI
Role Qualifications & Requirements:
- Job Knowledge (12+ years)
- Bachelor Degree
- Strong Performance Marketing background, especially with ROI trading, PPC, SEO, Metasearch and affiliate marketing
- Expertise in consulting, program management and corporate strategic planning
- Thorough understanding of measurement methods and experience in ad tech.
- Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Skilled in strategy development, including project scoping, hypotheses development, financial and business modeling, consensus building, and implementation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to take ownership, entrepreneurial, proactive with positive and diplomatic attitude, a self-starter.
- Knowledge of SQL and other data gathering and analysis techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of Online Marketing in the Travel Industry.
