As a Senior Financial Analyst supporting the Cars vertical, you will act as a key finance partner to the product, engineering and horizontal teams, embedding financial insight into trading, product decisions, and connected trip initiatives that directly impact topline performance and contribution margin.
You will own key elements of the planning, forecasting, and performance management cycle for Cars, translating complex commercial and operational drivers into clear financial narratives and actionable recommendations for stakeholders.

As Senior Financial Analyst you will be responsible for:
1. Business partnering with Cars Vertical, Product & Horizontals
- Act as a trusted FP&A partner to Cars product, engineering and horizontal teams, embedding finance into day-to-day and strategic decision-making (trading, product and onsite performance, connected trip initiatives, engineering efficiencies, upper funnel and as-booked transactions optimisation).
- Translate complex commercial drivers into clear, structured financial insights and recommendations for stakeholders up to VP level.
- Challenge and support decisions on product developments, engineering efficiencies, experimentation, and connected trip initiatives to ensure strong financial outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Marketplace FP&A team to ensure initiatives and actions between the vertical and horizontals are understood, reflected accurately in forecasts, and aligned to Car's priorities.
- Partner with DS&A, and Corporate FP&A to connect trading, customer, and financial performance into a coherent view of the business.
2. Planning, forecasting & performance management
- Own key components of the Cars planning and forecasting cycles (annual planning, periodic forecasts, weekly trading outlooks) for upper funnel, conversion, as-booked transactions and contribution margin drivers.
- Develop robust assumptions, scenarios, and sensitivities to support decision-making in a fast-moving commercial environment.
- Deliver high-quality performance reporting and variance analysis vs budget, forecast, and prior year, with clear driver-based commentary and recommended actions.
- Build financial models and business cases for commercial initiatives (e.g. new products, experimentation, operating model efficiencies), ensuring clear ROI frameworks and alignment to FP&A standards.
- Ensure strong alignment with planning and reporting tools (e.g. Anaplan, OneStream), maintaining consistency, accuracy, and control across submissions.
3. Process, tooling & control environment
- Maintain robust forecasting, reporting, and reconciliation processes to support a strong FP&A control environment.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and insight generation through AI, automation, standardisation, and improved reporting frameworks.
- Support ongoing FP&A transformation initiatives, including enhancements to tooling, data integration, and driver-based modelling.
4. Team contribution & ways of working
- Support and coach junior analysts where appropriate, sharing best practices in financial analysis and business partnering.
- Contribute to a high-performing team environment, maintaining quality and pace through peak cycles (forecasting, month-end, planning).
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve how the Cars FP&A team operates and delivers value to the business.

As Senior Financial Analyst you will have:
Experience & capabilities
- Proven experience in FP&A or commercial finance, with strong exposure to forecasting, performance analysis, and business partnering.
- Demonstrated ability to translate financial data into actionable insights that influence commercial decisions.
- Experience working with complex, data-rich environments and multiple stakeholders across functions.
- Strong understanding of revenue drivers, unit economics, and contribution margin dynamics (Prior experience of working with Visits & Conversion metrics in a marketplace, e-commerce, or fast paced trading environment is also a plus).
Skills & behaviours
- Business partnering: builds trust with stakeholders, confidently challenges assumptions, and influences decision-making with data-driven insights.
- Analytical & technical: strong financial modelling and analytical skills; high proficiency in Excel/Sheets and FP&A tools (e.g. Anaplan, OneStream). Experience with SQL or large datasets, as well as AI tools is advantageous.
- Communication: able to distil complex analysis into clear, concise messages tailored to different audiences.
- Ways of working: organised, proactive, and delivery-focused, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset: actively identifies opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and ways of working.
