Role Description:
This Senior Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements in line with US GAAP.
The role will have ownership for a specific scope, including monthly operational expenditure analysis and accrual, supporting monthly flux commentary and management reporting, and closely overseeing control activities of the BHFS program.
This role will include oversight of other accountants on routine, non-complex tasks, including coaching and development of those accountants, supporting new hires with their onboarding, and promoting more efficient/effective processes.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Act as a connected business partner for internal stakeholders on tasks and projects with a cross functional impact.
- Responsible for the detailed accounting of operational expenditure expenses and accruals. Responsibility includes posting journal entries based on complete and accurate information per the month-end close timeframe, reconciling accounts, and performing analysis subsequently to maintain a complete and accurate general ledger.
- Analyze, compile and verify financial information and create financial reports and accounting statements so that the extended leadership team has accurate and timely information for making financial decisions.
- Be the subject matter expert in the accounting areas owned, being able to analyze and respond to questions, act as a point of contact, and work with functional or operational stakeholders to help with development of budgets, understanding of financial reports, and management of their financial responsibilities.
- Proactively support in covering all compliance requirements, i.e. Sox, tax, statutory and statistical filings and audits.
- Support internal & external audits and inquiries.
- Ensure mastering of systems and processes are complete, responsible for ledgers involving multiple countries and / or stakeholders.
- Support the team by identifying and communicating issues, with recommended process improvements, where possible.
- Identify and complete process improvement projects (including completion of existing projects and working through new projects).
- Provide oversight of other accountants on routine, non-complex tasks.
- Mentor and coach team members with onboarding and continuous development.

Role Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of Accounting experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
- Experience in working with Product, Business Intelligence/Data teams is beneficial
- Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS
- Able to cope with dynamic and high change environment
- Takes ownership for responsibilities with a positive attitude
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive self-starter, resourceful with strong work ethic
- Solution-oriented and result-driven
- Capable of working independently as well as working in a team
- Strong IT experience in financial systems, including SAP, is preferable
- Fluent in spoken and written English
