Risk and Control Team Leader

As a Risk and Control Team Leader you will be responsible for supporting the CS Financial Compliance, Risk, Security and Quality Manager and business to identify, assess and mitigate legal, regulatory compliance, operational and financial risk.

Partnering closely with business stakeholders you will be responsible for developing a comprehensive view of business risk taking activities within the Customer Service Department.

Successful risk management requires dynamic individuals led by a Team Leader who is able to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, integrate perspectives and ultimately drive beneficial business outcomes.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage, support and continuously develop a high performing team of CS payment compliance consisting several analysts reviewing all CS service compensation payout to ensure payment requests compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations and detect fraudulent activities
  • Lead the team by setting clear goals and objectives, coaching and leading by example. Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
  • Contribute to the integrity of CS department's services/products, employees and compliance with respect to the evolving business environment. Ensure that all potential risks are identified and managed by designing and implementing the relevant controls to mitigate the risks (including the relevant documentation formalising the process & maintaining the process narratives).
  • Build strong relationships with other departments within Booking.com. Be part of the wider CS Finance team and work closely with internal teams such as the Finance department (Risk and Controls, Tax) Security and Fraud Operations, Legal.
  • Identify and follow-up on opportunities for improvements on the automating and optimizing operational processes, building coalitions across departments, and - if applicable - lead the change from start to finish, especially for internal fraud.

Role Qualifications and Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise risk management and audit in large corporates, preferably in financial service industry
  • 3+ years of people and project management experience
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in both spoken and written English
  • Ability to support, develop and grow team members on an individual level
  • Experience in Risk and Controls field (risk assessment, control design and description, documentation and narrative)
  • Ability to break up a complex problem into actionable and easy-to-understand solutions
  • Good networking and stakeholder management skills and ability to influence others
  • Positive and constructive attitude, organizational change management skills and be a role model embracing change
  • Team player, ability to listen and take in other points of view
  • Experience of google suite and related MS Office business applications
