Revenue Strategy Manager - Flights

Role Overview:

To drive continued scaling of the Flights vertical, the leader in this role will be responsible for developing our long-term revenue management strategy, enhancing flights revenue performance, and drive innovation in our ability to optimise the business for growth. They will own pricing experimentation development, in collaboration with product and data teams, lead ancillary pricing strategy & execution, in addition to playing a key role in achieving flights objectives such as direct channel growth. The Manager Flights Revenue Management Strategy will also support strategic initiatives across several areas of the business, serving as the key owner of our revenue strategy and performance.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead Flights long-term pricing & revenue management strategy development and planning, collaborating with data and product teams to build insight, enhance steering capabilities, and achieve business objectives such as direct channel growth
  • Build strategic plans across multiple key revenue management initiatives, drive execution, anc communicate progress to Flights leadership and other stakeholders
  • Work with internal teams and our commercial partner to design, plan, and launch
  • pricing experiments aimed at building insights and/or increasing revenue performance
  • Lead collaboration with our product team to develop, test, and optimise our internally developed flights pricing engine and pricing strategy manager tool
  • Own ancillary pricing experimentation and optimisation to continue scaling flights revenue / transaction performance. Serve as subject matter experts on our ancillary revenue metric.
  • Support our ancillary strategy development, working with other commercial and product teams to understand impact from initiatives and experimentation, and support strategic decision-making
  • Develop & own Flights revenue integrity process and strategic planning, leading execution of growth opportunities with internal teams and our commercial partner
  • Drive alignment on flights revenue strategy amongst internal and external teams, supporting decision-making by identifying and communicating strategic trade-offs generated by various flights initiatives
  • Evaluate new internal and external data sources for potential opportunities to improve insight into our performance and/or enhance revenue management capabilities
  • Lead expansion and optimisation strategy for our price benchmarking capabilities to support understanding our price competitiveness in the market and potential strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with other Revenue & Growth teams to Identify opportunities and develop business cases aimed at influencing product development strategy and scaling Flights revenue performance
  • Ensure strategy alignment - closely collaborating with the Revenue Optimisation team to develop insights and tooling that will support their team's short to mid-term plans
  • Support various strategic initiatives across both commercial and product areas of the business, serving as owner of flights revenue management strategy to provide necessary input and supporting analysis (e.g. expanding flights distribution channels, flights genius program proposition, et al)
  • Support and/or lead elements of our annual / quarterly strategic planning process

Role Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Ideally the candidate would bring 7+ years work experience, including several years of commercial experience in the airline industry, especially in pricing or revenue management
  • Experience in flights industry competitive analysis and strategy development is highly desirable
  • Significant experience required in analyzing performance data (pricing/revenue management data being a big plus), utilizing various methods to uncover and communicate key findings, and creating models to drive revenue/pricing optimisation decisions
  • Significant experience leading experimentation development with product and data teams in order to inform pricing strategy
  • Experience working with a data analytics team to drive visibility on key business performance indicators through reporting and/or dashboard development and through coordination of deeper performance analyses is required
  • Experience working with teams to develop or enhance pricing / revenue management tools and technical capabilities is a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL and other data gathering and analysis techniques is a plus
  • Experience in influencing stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization
  • Ability to distill complex business issues and strategies to highlight insights and actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner
  • Ability and preference to take ownership, entrepreneurial, proactive with positive attitude, a self-starter who can manage multiple initiatives/priorities
  • Creativity and "out of the box" thinking that drives innovation
  • Results driven, pragmatism and ability to learn, test and iterate quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Data driven personality, with ambition to build a great business.
  • Expertise in technology, ideally in travel, e-commerce, retail, payments, and/or consumer facing products is a plus
