Operational Excellence Project Lead

Through our products, partners and people, we make it easier for everyone to experience the world.The Operational Excellence Project Lead is responsible for identifying and running complex and often multi-departmental continuous improvement projects or programs to support Local Partner Services as part of the Commercial Operations yearly business plan. The person in this role is able to use different project methods to achieve the result and is able to deliver tangible impacts to the business.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Help to continuously refine our data driven process and system optimization approach to successfully deliver on our business plan and business needs
  • Develop, train and coach process and system innovation capabilities within the Process & tooling team
  • Identify and pilot new technologies and methodologies from outside Booking.com that can contribute to our business
  • Identify and prioritize process improvement areas using a range of ideation sources within Local Partner Services
  • Drive complex projects and programs utilizing a pragmatic approach that combines tools like lean six sigma and design thinking
  • Provide regular progress reports to key stakeholders within Local Partner Services and Central Partner Services
  • Responsible for improving the processes within a chosen domain (e.g. commercial performance, system effectiveness, etc.)
  • Drive process and system changes across multiple departments to support changes driven by other departments such as Product, Tax, Finance & Legal
  • Document and assess implemented solutions to make sure they meet business objectives
  • Serve as liaison between various PS functions and regional leaders, translate requirements, process recommendations and strategies
  • Work independently with the local offices & host process innovation workshops.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience leading and delivering projects internationally and with a diverse stakeholder field
  • Proven and certified project management or lean six sigma experience in a service or commercial environment
  • Proven track record working with data and using this to identify and drive change
  • Independently be able to formulate and clearly define mitigation plans to reduce the project risks and provide clear and precise project progress updates
  • Attention to detail, adaptability, self-starter, and high degree of personal accountability
  • Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the company
  • Ability and wish to continuously learn new concepts and project methodologies
