As a Director within Financial Systems, you will lead the Data & BI and Innovation teams through a critical period of structural and technical evolution. This role is responsible for navigating the transition of functions to the new EA Service Delivery team while spearheading a massive multi-year transformation from legacy tech stacks (HANA) to a modern, cloud-native BDX (Snowflake) environment.

With our Central Tech team providing the infrastructure, the data products will be handled by this Enterprise Data & Analytics (Financial Systems) team and finance does their own analytics. Treasury and payment accounting processes are depending on this team.

Responsibilities:

This role reports directly to the VP for Financial Systems. You will manage a global team of approximately 40 FTEs.

  • Strategic Transformation: Lead the multi-year journey from HANA (Gustav) to Snowflake (BDX), including redesigning Data Marts, enhancing the operating model, and moving to open standards to drive the Financial Data analytics universe.
  • Risk & SOX Management: Oversee critical SOX controls and regulatory reports (e.g., DAC7) issued from the system. You are responsible for safeguarding the business against critical risks during period-end closing.
  • Enterprise Product Maturity: Mature Enterprise Data Products for future success, including migration to RISE, preparing for advanced analytics, and building scalable hybrid solutions for Cloud and On-Premise systems.
  • Dual-Platform Oversight (Interim): During the transition, manage the smooth delivery of activities across both Gustav and BDX platforms, ensuring high-seniority focus on both technical infrastructure and business content.
  • Stakeholder Leadership: Act as the strategic partner for Finance Towers and VPs, aligning technical roadmaps with the company strategy and "Architecture North Star."
  • Developing Teams & Talents: Lead a team of Senior Engineering Managers (SEMs) and Engineering Managers (EMs), with a vision to grow the organization to include Technical Product Managers and Principal Data Engineers over the next 1-2 years.
  • Leading in: Actively and rigorously drive complete ownership of the financial data domain, defining success metrics and proactively reflecting on the ROI of technical efforts.

Ideal Experience & Skills:

  • Significant years of Leadership Experience in Data Engineering or Data Science & Analytics within a global e-commerce environment.
  • Technical Transformation: Proven track record leading large-scale migrations from legacy SAP/HANA systems to modern cloud stacks like Snowflake (BDX).
  • Compliance & Finance: Deep understanding of SOX compliance, statutory reporting, and the complexities of working in a multi-ERP and Multi-Brand environment.
  • Data Infrastructure: Solid understanding of technology platforms, infrastructure, and setting up Cloud pipelines using tools like SAP Datasphere.
  • Executive Influence: Experience working with multiple senior stakeholders (Finance, Architecture, VPs) to handle frequently changing requirements and priorities.
  • Educational Background: Master's degree preferred; fluency in English with excellent presentation and storytelling ability is essential.

JOBS TO BE DONE / OBJECTIVES:

  • Successful BDX / Snowflake Implementation: Ensure a flawless migration to the new platform, as the price of failure impacts company-wide compliance and statutory reporting.
  • Operating Model Evolution: Transition the team from its current state to the "To-Be" structure involving Global Product Management and specialized Engineering tracks.
  • Data Quality & Integration: Define data contracts and create scalable solutions for transaction flow and payments sub-ledger migration.

OTHER PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Character traits: Open mind, learning attitude, and a proactive, collaborative spirit.
  • Strategic Execution: A strategic thinker who is also focused on execution and able to "roll up sleeves" to manage critical system complexities.
  • Resilience: Able to function in a fast-moving environment with a healthy disregard for organizational boundaries when necessary to achieve high-pace execution.
  • Customer-Centric: Keep the customer (internal Finance stakeholders and partners) at the center of all data solutions
