The Travel Media Network at Booking Ads is a high-growth business unit within Booking.com, leveraging our world-class first-party data to connect brands with global travelers. As we diversify our platform beyond accommodations, Booking Ads is at the forefront of monetizing these new opportunities. We act as the commercial bridge between our massive audience and the brands - both travel-related and lifestyle-focused - that want to reach them.

This is a management position tasked with two massive "ground-up" builds: a commercial agency ecosystem and a high-performing team.

As the Commercial Manager, you will be the architect of our Agency & New Vertical strategy. You will move the needle by building relationships with the world's largest media holding companies while scaling our Endemic New Verticals (Flights, Cars, Attractions) through both Direct-Client partnerships and agency channels. Furthermore, you will unlock Non-Endemic revenue by positioning our offsite capabilities to lifestyle, retail, and finance brands.

Beyond the strategy, you are a people leader. You will be responsible for hiring, onboarding and fostering a high-performing team culture. You will also serve as the Subject Matter Expert across the organization, facilitating sophisticated stakeholder management with other internal departments to ensure Booking Ads is recognized as the commercial authority in the media space.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Team Leadership & Culture Building: Build a high-performing commercial team from the ground up. You will lead the full lifecycle of talent: from headcount planning and hiring to onboarding, coaching and establishing a winning team culture.
  • Hybrid Sales Strategy: Design and execute a commercial roadmap that captures revenue via two paths:
    • The Agency Channel: Building a ground-up strategy for the "Big 6" media holding companies.
    • Client Direct: Managing and scaling direct partnerships with endemic brands, particularly within the Flights and transport sectors.
  • Commercial Lead for New Verticals: Drive the monetization of Flights, Cars, and Attractions. You will define how we package these endemic offerings to both agencies and direct partners to maximize share-of-wallet.
  • Near, Non-Endemic & Offsite Growth: Identify and capture opportunities for brands in near (Travel insurance, CC, Rail operaters, travel lounges) and non-travel sectors (e.g., Financial Services, Tech, Retail) to leverage our offsite campaign capabilities and 1st-party data.
  • Cross-Departmental Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the primary consultant to other internal departments on all things Media & Advertising. You will lead stakeholder management to ensure alignment while maintaining TMN's position as the commercial expert.
  • Scalable Frameworks for travel advertisers: Develop "1-to-many" frameworks to manage broad advertiser sets, such as Destination Marketing Organizations, efficiently through their agencies of record.
  • EMEA Revenue Ownership: Own the sales pipeline and revenue targets for the Agency and New Vertical sectors across the EMEA region.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Management Experience: Minimum 2 years of direct people management experience, specifically in a media or tech sales environment.
  • Industry Longevity: 10+ years of professional experience in digital advertising, agency development, or travel media.
  • Stakeholder Mastery: Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional projects in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Technical Fluency: A strong understanding of offsite media, programmatic buying, and the nuances of travel-intent data.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Media Generalist: Strong knowledge of Programmatic, Display, and Data-driven marketing, with the ability to sell these solutions to both travel (Endemic) near, and non-travel (Non-Endemic) brands.
