The FinTech Foundations team is the central nervous system of our entire FinTech Products division. Role Description

The Architect will play a key role in shaping the architectural vision, strategy, and roadmap for our entire FinTech business unit. This position is part of the FinTech Foundations team, our horizontal services group responsible for building and maintaining core, cross-cutting capabilities. The Architect will report to the Director of FinTech Foundations.

In addition to this primary role, the Architect will also be an active member of the broader FinTech Products Architecture team. This dual alignment ensures the role not only drives foundational services but also stays connected to and influences the overall product architecture strategy across the FinTech domain.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Drive architectural excellence by playing a key role in the FinTech Architecture Review Board, ensuring solutions meet our high standards for quality, security, and scalability.
  • Guide and support engineering teams in designing and delivering feasible solutions that meet project deadlines while advancing our long-term architectural vision.
  • Bridge theory and practice by continuously validating architectural designs against real-world implementation, using feedback to refine our strategies and standards.
  • Champion architectural best practices by developing reusable patterns, creating technical documentation, and leading knowledge-sharing sessions across the organization.
  • Simplify our technology landscape by actively identifying and reducing architectural complexity and unnecessary coupling between systems.
  • Shape our technical strategy by establishing and maintaining the FinTech Product's Tech Radar, evaluating emerging technologies to drive innovation and guide investment.
  • Foster strong stakeholder relationships by managing communications effectively to ensure strategic alignment, proactively identify risks, and build consensus.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 4+ years of relevant job experience in an architecture role
  • Architectural Design: Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale, resilient, and secure software architectures, ideally within a FinTech or e-commerce environment.
  • Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including knowledge of their core services and architectural best practices
  • Modern Methodologies: Demonstrated experience with software design methodologies like Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and facilitating collaborative workshops such as Event Storming.
  • Stakeholder Management: Expertise in translating complex stakeholder needs and business requirements into clear technical specifications and actionable architectural designs.
  • Communication & Influence: Solid communication skills with professional fluency in English (written and spoken), capable of documenting and presenting complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset, enabling you to contribute directly to the business unit's technology vision and strategy
