Make Your Mark:
Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the Director of Strategic People Initiatives is critical to the CPO, providing strategic and operational support. The role is responsible for integrating and strategically aligning work across all functions within the People function.
You'll Get To:
- Serve as a key member of the People leadership team (PLT) within human resources, working closely with the CPO and the PLT to effectively manage and support the department's strategic operations.
- Is responsible for a variety of cross-functional initiatives to advance the strategic direction of the People function and support BlackLine's organizational goals. This includes building and/or identifying teams to work through the completion of large, high-profile projects and long-term roadmaps, in addition to owning the scope, identifying measures of success, and project managing the team(s) through successful completion of the initiative(s).
- Leads and manages a portfolio of projects, ad-hoc analyses, and activities across multiple teams and departments and/or support corporate objectives and emerging issues.
- Routinely brings together multiple senior-level stakeholders with divergent perspectives to drive decisions, influence outcomes, and enable leader success.
- Support organizational excellence through independent analysis of operational effectiveness, synthesizing team and other stakeholder feedback to drive improved processes and experiences.
- Support the CPO in executing HR goals and initiatives by tracking progress, following up on action items and status updates and supporting plans.
- Support the preparation for HR activities involving the CPO such as strategy meetings, all-hands meetings, and townhalls. Drive agenda and post meeting follow up.
- Partner with Internal Communications on CPO communications including announcements, speeches, talking points and presentations.
- Support the CPO with thought partnership and preparation of materials for Board and Committee meetings, Executive Committee meetings, and other large meetings of senior leaders.
- Act as a strong collaborator and team builder, with excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Other duties as assigned, as the scope and focus areas for the People team continue to expand.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience as a Sr. HR Generalist, HR Director, Chief of Staff or Consulting experience from a major consulting firm.
- Demonstrated experience driving large scale implementations requiring process changes, project management and change management.
- Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people with diverse styles; make informed decisions, find solutions, encourage and support change; and, to constructively leverage different perspectives.
- Excellent approach to problem analysis and resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
- Innovative thinker able to make decisions independently and expeditiously; and, to translate strategy into action.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Tech savvy with strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Understanding of business, business strategy, internal processes, and change management to connect the dots.
- Knowledge or experience in one or more HR functional areas preferred.
- Experience developing plans, organizing events/implementing projects.
- Consulting experience, with a focus on people and culture and/or operations management.
- Ability to generate clear problem definitions and proposed solutions by proactively identifying relevant information and stakeholders.
- Ability to achieve short- and long-term objectives independently and through others by prioritizing activities, monitoring the progress of projects, and ensuring accountability for timely results within budget parameters; Strong project-reporting skills, with focus on interdepartmental communications.

Salary Range:
USD $199,000.00 - USD $248,000.00
Pay Transparency Statement:
Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
