Therapeutic Area Lead, Global Clinical Supply Chain

About This Role:

As a Therapeutic Area Lead within Biogen's Global Clinical Supply Chain, you will play a pivotal leadership role in advancing our dynamic and growing clinical portfolio. You will lead the end-to-end clinical supply chain strategy for a therapeutic area portfolio focused on late-stage clinical development while shaping the future of how clinical supply chains operate.

Beyond operational delivery, this role is central to Biogen's transformation. You will help redefine how our clinical supply chains operates by harnessing data to yield new insights, establishing modernized planning approaches, and cementing new ways of working. You will directly contribute to the accelerating product-to-patient timelines and elevate supply chain performance across cost, quality, and service.

As a senior leader within Biogen's West Coast Hub, you will build and grow clinical supply chain capabilities, advance critical late-stage programs toward launch, and partner closely with Clinical Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D to drive integrated, forward-looking supply strategies.

This is a hybrid role (2-3 days in-office per week) to be based out of our office in San Francisco, CA.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead end‑to‑end clinical supply chain planning and execution for multiple products within your therapeutic area, with a strong focus on late‑stage clinical development.
  • Ensure uninterrupted clinical supply through robust, risk‑based supply plans that optimize cost, minimize waste, and meet quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Set the strategic direction for your portfolio, influencing program decisions in alignment with enterprise and therapeutic strategies.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high‑performing global team, fostering accountability, engagement, and career growth.
  • Drive the evolution of clinical supply chain capabilities by standardizing practices, advancing Centers of Excellence, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion digital transformation that replace manual processes with integrated workflows, enhance data visibility, and enable faster, better‑informed decisions.
  • Manage financial planning and deliver against budget and performance targets for the therapeutic area.
  • Serve as a senior PO&T leader within the West Coast Hub, strengthening cross‑functional collaboration, communication and alignment.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 12 years of experience in a highly complex corporate environment.
  • Prior clinical supply chain experience is required.
  • People management experience and/or Cross-Functional Project Management experience.
  • Experience within a global and regulated environment.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to anticipate risks and develop contingency plans.

Preferred Skills:

  • MBA is highly preferred.
  • APICS certification or Lean Six Sigma/Green Belt is considered an asset.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $196,000.00-$270,000.00

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
