Senior Manager, Patient Centricity and Engagement Lead
About This Role:
As the Senior Manager, Patient Centricity and Engagement Lead, you will play a pivotal role in our Clinical Trials and Development Unit (CTAU) team. This position is dedicated to overseeing the comprehensive delivery of patient and site support across clinical trials, ensuring inclusivity and representativeness in trial participation. You will leverage digital tools to enhance communication and enrollment with patients, advocacy groups, and caregivers. Your work will ensure educational materials are accessible and tailored to meet the needs of both patients and sites. This role is crucial in driving patient recruitment and retention, executing early study planning, and delivering the portfolio to achieve Biogen's clinical trials and organizational objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional partners, providing strong stakeholder management and championing patient-first thinking within study teams.

What You'll Do:
- Establish and deliver study-level patient engagement strategies across assigned studies, programs, or disease areas.
- Plan, coordinate, and ensure on-time delivery of patient recruitment and retention activities, incorporating diversity goals.
- Track, monitor, and report progress on Patient Centricity and Engagement (PCE) tactics, providing insights and recommendations.
- Manage the study-level PCE budget, including forecasting and tracking spend.
- Define, monitor, and evaluate vendor KPIs, ensuring alignment and delivery to expectations.
- Provide strong stakeholder management across study teams, ensuring alignment and smooth delivery of engagement activities.
- Oversee vendor delivery, ensuring quality, compliance, and seamless execution of PCE initiatives.
- Communicate proactively and clearly with internal and external stakeholders, sharing updates and insights.
- Leverage patient, caregiver, and site insights to guide decision-making and improve trial experience.
- Champion patient-first thinking, supporting the creation of materials and approaches that reflect patient needs.
- Deliver cross-functional support of initiatives for effective execution of clinical trials.
Who You Are:
You are a strategic thinker with a strong ability to influence without authority and work independently. Your scientific and clinical astuteness, coupled with excellent project management skills, make you adept at driving successful patient recruitment and retention strategies. You possess strong communication skills and business acumen, enabling you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners. You are committed to championing patient-first thinking, ensuring that clinical trial processes are inclusive and reflective of patient needs.
Required Skills:
- B.A. or B.Sc. in a scientific discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years as a Patient Recruitment and Retention specialist within pharma, biotech, CRO, or vendor.
- Strong vendor management experience.
- Ability to influence without authority.
- Works well independently and collaboratively.
- Scientifically and clinically astute with strong project management, communication skills, and business acumen.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in managing complex stakeholder communications.
- Proven track record in driving inclusive and representative patient engagement strategies.
- Familiarity with leveraging digital tools for patient communication and enrollment.

Additional Information
The base compensation range for this role is: $134,000.00-$179,000.00
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
