About This Role

This role will contribute to both internal and external research efforts aimed at advancing our Neurology portfolio, with an emphasis on neurodevelopmental disorders and epilepsy. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and proposing novel drug targets, while also providing hands-on technical expertise in the laboratory in close collaboration with cross-functional team members. The position requires effective partnership with modality specialists across biologics, small molecules, and oligonucleotide platforms. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, multidisciplinary research environment and demonstrates strong organizational, multitasking, collaboration, and communication skills.

What You'll Do

  • Lead cross-functional teams in preclinical drug development phase supporting neurodevelopment and epilepsy indications
  • Serve as a people leader and mentor, providing guidance and development support to junior scientists in the laboratory
  • Organization/planning to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Maintain a strong awareness of the external therapeutic landscape to proactively identify competitive risks, evaluate emerging platform technologies, and uncover new strategic opportunities.
  • Present data and conclusions to leadership and decision makers in a clear, balanced, and compelling manner.
  • External representation, i.e. presenting at congresses etc.

Required Skills

  • PhD in Biology, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, or related scientific discipline with 5+ years industry or academic experience beyond any postdoctoral positions. Alternatively, a B.S with 10+ years industry or academic experience or MS degree with 8+ years industry or academic work
  • Expertise in evaluating external opportunities in the therapeutic landscape.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in preclinical drug development, supporting neurodevelopment and epilepsy indications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting data and conclusions.
  • Experience in external representation, such as presenting at congresses.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $142,000.00-$190,000.00

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
