About This Role:

As a Payment Specialist in Clinical Trial Financial Operations - Pharma/Biotech, you will play a crucial role in the management of investigator payments, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with clinical trial agreements. Situated within the Site Contracts Management team, you will lead interactions with study teams, budget hubs, and EDC functional groups to set up and manage payments effectively. Your role will involve drafting and finalizing payment terms, leading monthly reporting meetings with payment vendors, and resolving payment disputes to support our clinical trials. The value of this position lies in its impact on the seamless execution of payments, which is vital for the success of our clinical studies. By ensuring proper funding and resolving queries swiftly, you will contribute significantly to the operational efficiency and financial integrity of our clinical trials.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead monthly study payment reporting meetings with payment vendors to ensure timely payments.
  • Collaborate with study teams and functional groups to identify and resolve payment issues.
  • Review payment actuals and work with vendors to ensure compliance with CTAs.
  • Draft and finalize payment terms in the CTA Financial Appendix.
  • Support study teams during CTA negotiations and query resolution.
  • Liaise with payment vendors to resolve disputes and provide necessary clarifications.
  • Ensure study funding is available and managed in accordance with the funding process.
  • Develop an understanding of vendor data capabilities to efficiently resolve queries.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry or academic medical center in site payments or relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in project management and financial analysis across Phase I-IV clinical trials.
  • Excellent conflict resolution, decision making, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle a high volume of tasks.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial agreements and payment processes.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $95,000.00-$124,000.00

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
