Job Purpose:
This individual contributor role is responsible for disseminating and translating scientific evidence related to Biogen's therapeutic areas and products (marketed and pipeline) for engaging the scientific community.

This territory includes all of Quebec. The preferred location of the successful candidate would be in Quebec City or Montreal.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate scientific exchange (e.g. evidence dissemination, knowledge translation) with key medical experts and allied healthcare professionals, as needed, on therapeutic area related content.
• Share medical insights from external engagements within medical affairs that can be used to inform strategy or develop learning content.
• Support therapeutic experts in developing or reviewing concepts and protocols for SRAs / IITs in line with Biogen research areas of interest.
• Support appropriate screening processes to identify potential investigators for Biogen initiated clinical trials, collaborate with clinical trial groups to evaluate requests and assess.
• Work with affiliate Stakeholder Engagement team to educate patient association groups (PAGs) or payers about the disease area and evidence for Biogen products.
• Work collaboratively and in alignment with the cross- functional team (i.e. Care Manager, Market Access, etc.) ensuring the successful implementation of the company's overall strategy.
• Participate in relevant affiliate or regional team meetings.
• Perform company business in compliance with relevant regulations, company policies and procedures.
• Other duties or projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education
  • Advanced degree in a related scientific field, such as MSc (or equivalent) as a minimum, PhD, PharmD or MD.

• Experience
  • Preferably 2 years of experience in Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry at a similar level of responsibility
  • Medical/scientific experience in Rare Diseases or neurology, an asset.
  • Experience working effectively in a matrix environment and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional partners to achieve goals.

• Skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (scientific and non-scientific).
  • Ability to work across multiple digital platforms and early adoption of new systems/applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety, Legal and Compliance environment and requirements.
  • Strong customer orientation, leveraging relevant scientific information with ability to ascertain customer/client needs.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and build partnerships with opinion leaders.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of professional integrity.
  • Perform company business in compliance with relevant regulations, company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

• Language(s)
  • Fluent in French, verbal and written with the ability to communicate effectively cross-functionally, spanning all levels of the organization.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

• Additional requirements:
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.

The expected salary range for this position is $113,000 to $151,250 and includes eligibility for a discretionary bonus. Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.

Le titulaire de ce poste est responsable de la diffusion et de la traduction des preuves scientifiques liées aux domaines thérapeutiques et aux produits de Biogen (commercialisés et en cours de développement) en vue de mobiliser la communauté scientifique.

Responsabilités :

• Faciliter les échanges scientifiques (p. ex., diffusion de données probantes, application des connaissances) avec des experts médicaux clés et des professionnels de la santé connexes, au besoin, sur les contenus liés aux domaines thérapeutiques.
• Communiquer au sein des affaires médicales les connaissances médicales issues d'engagements externes qui peuvent être utilisées pour éclairer la stratégie ou élaborer du contenu d'apprentissage.
• Soutenir les experts thérapeutiques dans l'élaboration ou l'examen de concepts et de protocoles pour les études entreprises par des chercheurs et dans le cadre d'ententes de recherche commanditées conformément aux domaines de recherche d'intérêt pour Biogen.
• Soutenir les processus de vérification appropriés pour identifier des chercheurs potentiels pour les essais cliniques entrepris par Biogen, collaborer avec les groupes d'essais cliniques pour évaluer les demandes.
• Collaborer avec l'équipe Mobilisation des intervenants de la société affiliée pour informer les groupes d'associations de patients ou les payeurs sur les maladies et les données probantes sur les produits de Biogen.
• Travailler en collaboration et en harmonie avec l'équipe interfonctionnelle (c.-à-d. gestionnaire de soins, accès aux marchés, etc.) pour assurer la réussite de la mise en œuvre de la stratégie globale de l'entreprise.
• Participer aux réunions pertinentes des équipes régionales ou de la société affiliée.
• Mener des activités pour l'entreprise conformément aux règlements, aux politiques et aux procédures de l'entreprise.
• Autres tâches ou projets assignés.

Qualifications :

• Niveau de scolarité
  • Diplôme d'études supérieures dans un domaine scientifique connexe, tel qu'une maîtrise (ou équivalent) au minimum, un doctorat, un doctorat en pharmacie ou un doctorat en médecine.

• Expérience
  • De préférence, deux ans d'expérience dans le domaine des affaires médicales dans l'industrie pharmaceutique ou biotechnologique à un niveau de responsabilité similaire.
  • Une expérience médicale ou scientifique en Maladies Rares ou en neurologie est un atout.
  • Expérience de travail efficace dans un environnement matriciel et capacité avérée à travailler en collaboration avec des partenaires interfonctionnels pour atteindre les objectifs.

• Compétences
  • Excellentes compétences en matière de communication et de présentation (scientifiques et non scientifiques).
  • Capacité à travailler sur de multiples plateformes numériques et à adopter rapidement de nouveaux systèmes et applications.
  • Excellente connaissance des affaires réglementaires, de l'innocuité des médicaments, de l'environnement et des exigences juridiques et de la conformité.
  • Forte orientation client, exploitation des informations scientifiques pertinentes et capacité à déterminer les besoins des clients.
  • Solides compétences en négociation et capacité d'influencer et d'établir des partenariats avec des leaders d'opinion.
  • Fort sentiment à l'égard de l'intégrité professionnelle.
  • Capacité de mener des activités pour l'entreprise conformément aux règlements, aux politiques et aux procédures de l'entreprise.
