Medical Manager, NMD

As Medical Manager, NMD, you will contribute to the development of medical strategy and provides medical input into Brand Strategies and medical guidance for therapeutic areas ensuring support of the life cycle of all products. You will work to execute the medical affairs component of the portfolio and brand Strategies and translate complex medical scientific content to tactics and have medical operation expertise /skills or experience in managing medical projects.

  • Provide medical input into local medical strategy for the therapeutic area leveraging local customer insights that help prepare the anticipated introduction of new medicines, working cross-functionally with key internal and partner functions to address the medical need in the country
  • Implement the country medical plans, partnering with the local medical and cross functional team across to define, establish and execute a coherent strategic plan that addresses patient needs
  • Ensure full alignment with global/regional strategy and support better understanding of current local challenges and clinical practice needs for patients
  • Partner and collaborate with market access to show potential medical value of compounds in development relevant to local external stakeholders (payers, HCPs, agencies etc.)
  • Develop and execute phase IV studies, registries, IITs and SRAs as required.
  • Support regulatory strategies for product specific activities
  • Work closely with cross functional colleagues including commercial teams to create and drive medical product tactics that have the ability to enhance patient well-being and that deliver value to both patients and their healthcare teams.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Affairs teams to develop and implement a communication strategy with National Governmental Agencies or Patient Group
  • Collaborate with Global Clinical Operations and CCL on early phase trials in the pipeline, phase III, and later phase IV activities (including site and PI lead selection)
  • Develop and manage budgets for medical activities and provide input into the country budgeting and planning process
  • Build regional medical science expertise of the Biogen Portfolio
  • Facilitate sharing of best practices and knowledge across products and locations (training internally)
  • Facilitate medical information request process (MedInfo), NPP's, EAP's, patient support program (PSP) and patient advocacy groups
  • Develop and manage an external medical expert network to ensure relevant and appropriate integration of accruing external medical expertise for the country
  • Build high value-added continuous medical educational programs for external stakeholders
  • Support the country medical lead to be performed medical review of promotional and non-promotional materials to ensure scientific accuracy when needed and clearly express rationale for any objection and sign-off before release
  • Provide medical perspective and knowledge to other teams within the local team and at regional / global level
  • Create a climate in which self-motivated individuals will aspire to higher levels of performance
  • Ensure exchange of medical information with other functions as appropriate for medical affairs and behave as a role model
  • Identify lifecycle development opportunities for product based on patient needs: Foster collaboration with Korea, other affiliate in APAC and beyond
  • And other job duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • Academic background in science, pharmacy or medicine; Advanced degree preferred (MD, PhD) or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Proficiency in English: advanced
  • At least 5 years' experience in Medical or clinical affairs neurology or experience in neuroscience TA in Medical (pharmaceutical or CRO) or Medical studies preferred
  • Medical/scientific experience in rare diseases & prior experience of clinical trials management and understanding of GCP is prefered.
