About This Role:
As an Intern in Advanced Data Analytics, you will join our Global Manufacturing Sciences Team at the Solothurn Biologics Manufacturing facility. This role is centered around enhancing our process data analytics tools and leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques such as machine learning and deep learning to optimize real-time bioprocess monitoring. You will develop data extraction pipelines and automated processing workflows to feed analytical tools, supporting improvements in yield and product quality. Your work will be crucial in visualizing model outputs through dashboards, aiding in fault detection and process optimization. Collaborating with process experts, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening our process understanding and robustness, fitting seamlessly into our innovative team structure.

What You'll Do:

  • Build automated data extraction pipelines and data processing workflows using OSI PI, Statistica, and Python.
  • Develop AI models including supervised learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning to predict process performance metrics.
  • Create novel analytical tools and apply data-driven modeling principles using Python to describe bioprocessing operations.
  • Build applications to visualize model outputs, supporting process monitoring and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate with process experts to address data analysis requests and report findings effectively.
  • Assist in enhancing process understanding through advanced data analytics and modeling techniques.

You are deeply curious and passionate about data analytics and its applications in bioprocessing. Your strong analytical skills and attention to detail drive you to uncover insights that enhance process efficiency. You possess a growth mindset, continuously seeking opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills in data science and biotechnology.

Required Skills:

  • Currently enrolled in an MSc program in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or Computational Sciences.
  • Fundamentals of bioprocessing, including Process Analytical Technology (PAT).
  • Experience with ETL of large datasets and statistical data analytics.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML/DL libraries such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Strong mathematical background with experience in process modeling concepts.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in handling and visualizing large datasets.
  • Familiarity with OSI PI and Statistica for data processing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex data insights.
