Immunology Thought Leader Liaison SLE Rheumatology
About the Role
Biogen is seeking an Immunology Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) Lead with deep Rheumatology experience to support the launch readiness and commercialization of our emerging Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) product.
This field-based role is responsible for expanding Biogen's influence within the rheumatology community by engaging Key Medical Experts (KMEs), generating critical insights, and strengthening Biogen's position as a scientific and commercial leader in SLE.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping strategy across disease education, advocacy, content development, congress presence, and advisory engagements, ensuring Biogen is fully prepared for future lupus launches.
Key Responsibilities
Thought Leader Engagement & Advocacy
- Drive KME strategy by identifying, mapping, and cultivating relationships with established and emerging rheumatology KMEs and influencers.
- Lead strategic national and regional engagements to expand Biogen's rheumatology footprint across academic, community, and influential digital channels.
- Strengthen relationships with rheumatology thought leaders, advocacy partners, and professional societies to elevate SLE disease state awareness.
- Identify and recruit KMEs for commercial initiatives, peer-to-peer content, speaker opportunities, and strategic advisory work.
- Serve as Biogen's primary point of connection to rheumatology KMEs, ensuring aligned and compliant engagement.
Insight Generation & Strategic Planning
- Capture national and regional dermatology insights to inform SLE commercial strategy, marketing decisions, and launch planning.
- Provide synthesized customer insights and competitive intelligence to brand teams and leadership.
- Lead planning and execution of dermatology-focused advisory boards, steering committees, and expert roundtables.
- Monitor evolving treatment trends, unmet needs, and expert sentiment related to SLE.
Program & Content Development
- Build and execute a dermatology-focused KME engagement strategy, including influence mapping and targeted plans.
- Maintain updated KME profiles and customer segmentation for priority rheumatology customers.
- Partner with HQ Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Insights to develop SLE educational and promotional materials.
- Manage vendors supporting medical education, speaker programs, and meeting services.
- Build and manage the future SLE speakers bureau.
- Lead Biogen's dermatology congress strategy including symposia, booth presence, sponsorships, and customer engagement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a key member of cross-functional Immunology brand sub-teams.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Access, Insights, Advocacy, and Global teams to maintain alignment.
- Support executive engagement opportunities with top rheumatology experts and Centers of Excellence.
- Ensure insights and recommendations directly inform strategy, brand planning, and launch readiness.
Required Qualification
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years pharmaceutical/biotech experience in customer-facing or strategic commercial roles.
- Minimum 5 years of customer-facing experience in Rheumatology (required) and Dermatology (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with high-value KMEs.
- Proven ability to thrive in competitive specialty markets.
- Experience influencing cross-functional decision-making and shaping strategy.
- Ability to travel up to 80%, including nights/weekends as required.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record per Biogen policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience across Sales, Marketing, Market Access, or Commercial Operations.
- Experience supporting pre-launch or launch-phase commercial activities.
- Strong capability in insight synthesis and strategic storytelling.

Additional Information
The base compensation range for this role is: $208,000.00-$286,000.00
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
