About This Role:

As the Head of Field Strategy & Excellence, you will play a pivotal role in driving our customer engagement practice to new heights, aligning with Biogen's Mission to be Catalysts for Change and our Vision of ensuring first-choice patient access to our therapies. You will lead a dedicated team of Biogen Healthcare Partners (BHP) within Specialty, with direct management accountability and indirect influence over the broader BHP strategy and capabilities across Biogen's portfolio. This position is crucial in fostering collaborative customer approaches, ensuring our strategic account management practice is seamlessly delivered across teams. You'll oversee the development and implementation of engagement strategies that will propel our business objectives forward, positioning Biogen as a leader in the healthcare space.

This position is 100% field based across the UK.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and manage the Specialty BHP team, ensuring delivery of in-year business goals.
  • Support the Rare BHP team and other teams as needed, collaborating with the Rare Commercial Therapy Area Lead.
  • Build capabilities and provide coaching to the BHP team across the Biogen UK portfolio.
  • Foster a collaborative approach to account management strategy, optimizing resource utilization.
  • Partner with marketing, sales, market access, and medical teams to embed best practices in customer interaction models.
  • Utilize insights gathered from the field to inform brand strategy and identify key trends.
  • Design incentive schemes, set targets, and adapt them to support our business goals.
  • Develop reporting standards to generate performance feedback and inform market trend indicators.
  • Enhance call effectiveness through strategic coaching practices.
  • Lead the development and implementation of our 3-year customer engagement plan.
  • Integrate omnichannel opportunities into customer interactions and training solutions.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to deliver excellence in field commercial practice.
  • Champion training and capabilities roadmap with internal stakeholders.

You are comfortable working with head office stakeholders as to working in field coaching and supporting our field team to maximise their potential. Required Skills:

  • Significant years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience across brand lifecycle stages.
  • Proven track record of leading sales teams to exceed operational standards and sales goals.
  • Experience in organizational development and change management initiatives.
  • Advanced practice in account management strategy across direct and matrix reports.
  • Proven leader with operational impact across cross-functional teams, leading through influence.
  • Undergraduate degree strongly preferred, preferably in the sciences.
  • Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing field excellence plans.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and make strategic recommendations on customer strategy.
