Head of Commercial Learning and Development

About This Role: As the Head of Commercial Learning, you will be responsible for the end-to-end learning strategy for the US commercial organization. You will lead a high-performing team of trainers and instructional designers to build a "Learning Organization" that translates brand strategy into field behaviors. You will ensure that every member of the field force-from new hires to veteran leaders-possesses the customer engagement, clinical, pull-through, and leadership competencies required to succeed in a highly regulated and competitive marketplace. Additionally, you will lead the strategy, development, and execution of training programs for sales and market access teams across levels while managing budgets, teams, vendors, and using metrics to prove ROI and drive performance.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee the creation of comprehensive learning pathways for diverse roles, including Sales Representatives, Field Managers, and Market Access professionals.
  • Develop learning content for both new hires and continuous learning across various mediums such as e-learning, POA meetings, and workshops.
  • Set the standard for modern pedagogy, incorporating micro-learning, gamification, and simulation-based training.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of a Leadership Development Curriculum for field leaders.
  • Manage a team of franchise-aligned trainers, ensuring adherence to standards of excellence and adult learning principles.
  • Manage learning budgets, select and oversee agency partners, and coordinate with IT on LMS needs.
  • Drive a structured approach to learning needs analysis, linking identified gaps to learning interventions.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with 15+ years in Pharmaceutical Commercial roles, with at least 7-10 years specifically in Learning & Development leadership.
  • A deep understanding of how adults learn and a proven track record of building curriculum from the ground up.
  • Experience defining a learning roadmap, KPIs, and developing the LMS and other technology platforms for a best-in-class learning environment.
  • Experience managing a sizable, diverse team (10+) of specialists and remote trainers.
  • As a "Coach of Coaches", you have the ability to develop the trainers themselves, elevating their delivery and facilitation skills.
  • Strong ability to work cross functionally and influence Brand Marketing, Sales leadership, and HR.
  • Ability to drive change and influence stakeholders.
  • Can rapidly pivot training programs in response to new clinical data or competitive launches.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $222,000.00-$305,250.00

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.

Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
