2 days ago• Cambridge, MA

About the Role:

This application is for a 6-month student role from January - June 2027. Resume review begins in October 2026.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Co-Op student to join Biogen's North America Medical (NAM) team within Field Medical Capability and Operational Excellence. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting strategic initiatives that enhance Field Medical effectiveness, accelerate onboarding and capability development, and drive operational excellence across therapeutic areas.

The Co-Op will partner closely with the Associate Director, Field Medical Capability Lead, to support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Field Medical onboarding program, maintain key operational resources, contribute to MSL skills and capability development initiatives, and assist with cross-functional projects that support organizational priorities. The individual will also gain exposure to project management, change management, stakeholder engagement, performance measurement, and the development of executive-level communications and reporting.

This position is ideal for students pursuing a BS, Master's, PharmD, or PhD who are interested in exploring careers in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, Medical Affairs, Field Medical Operations, learning and development, or operational excellence. The role provides valuable insight into how strategic initiatives are developed, implemented, and scaled to support Field Medical teams and improve organizational effectiveness.

What You'll Do:

  • Support the implementation of Field Medical onboarding across all therapeutic areas, driving adoption and optimization through stakeholder engagement, feedback collection, and measurement of predefined success metrics and KPIs.
  • Maintain and enhance core Field Medical resources, including the Medical Playbook, onboarding materials, governance documentation, operational guides, and capability-building tools.
  • Support MSL skills and capability development initiatives by coordinating training programs, facilitating learning experiences, capturing learner feedback, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including IT, Commercial, Global Medical Training, Compliance, Medical Operations, and other key business functions to deliver strategic initiatives and organizational priorities.
  • Develop presentations, meeting summaries, and leadership communications to support decision-making, project execution, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Support Field Medical Capability and Operational Excellence initiatives through process improvement, change management, and the implementation of scalable best practices that enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and governance activities by coordinating meetings, documenting decisions, and providing ongoing project communications.

Who You Are:

  • Interested in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry and medical affairs.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); familiarity with tools like Veeva CRM is a plus but not required.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

To participate in the Biogen Internship or Co-op Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university or skills program/apprenticeship.
