About This Role:

As a Buyer at Biogen, you will play a pivotal role in our cross-functional team by ensuring the procurement of GMP and non-GMP raw and direct materials. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of procurement strategies and policies to maximize Biogen's returns on external spending. You will manage procurement transactions and vendor interactions, ensuring thorough due diligence and compliance with financial objectives and site manufacturing goals. Your contributions are vital in maintaining seamless operations, supporting the Inventory Planning group, and resolving supplier issues. Positioned within our Procurement team, you will be instrumental in driving efficiency and reliability in our supply chain processes.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure all procurement transactions undergo proper due diligence before conversion into purchase orders.
  • Interact with vendors to communicate purchase orders, manage status, confirm deliveries, and address any issues affecting procurement timelines.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory Planning group to execute purchasing strategies that align with financial and manufacturing objectives.
  • Resolve supplier issues and participate in meetings to address and resolve delays or other challenges.
  • Serve as the first operational contact for Source-to-Contract (S2C) processes, advising users on buying channels, preferred suppliers, and workflows.
  • Support internal manufacturing global operations by driving procurement efficiency.

You are detail-oriented and proactive, with a knack for navigating complex procurement processes. Your ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams ensures seamless operations and timely procurement. You thrive in collaborative environments, and your problem-solving skills allow you to address supplier issues with confidence. You are committed to excellence and eager to contribute to Biogen's success by optimizing procurement strategies.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in a GMP regulated industry or similar.
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and governing policies.

Preferred Skills:

  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Chain) certification.
  • Experience with S2C processes and procurement workflows.

  • This role is in hybrid model of work.
  • Please note that the role requires a candidate to be a holder of work permit & residency in Poland.
