About this role

The Associate Medical Director, Transplant Evidence Generation, is part of the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) Transplant team, a strategic partner within Biogen, that provides medical and scientific expertise across our therapeutic areas and pipeline to improve meaningful patient outcomes. Reporting to the Global Medical Director, Transplant, the Associate Medical Director will collaborate closely with other members of the GMA Transplant team to coordinate and execute key medical strategies and tactics in support of the global launch of transplant indications.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with the GMA transplant team and relevant cross functional partners to support the development of the Integrated Evidence Plan aligned to the medical strategic plan and other relevant asset plans.
  • Lead scientific engagement with external experts to identify evidence gaps and research opportunities
  • Partner with Clinical Development to provide scientific insights that inform study design and evidence generation priorities.
  • Lead the development and execution of evidence generation activities across transplant indications, including real-world evidence and outcomes research initiatives.
  • Support publication planning and dissemination of research through congress presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners as a subject matter expert to support strategic medical initiatives, scientific resource development, and internal training related to data generation, interpretation and dissemination
  • Attend major scientific congresses and conferences to gather clinical insights, assess emerging data, and support the development of conference coverage materials and internal training.

Who You Are

You are a scientific or clinical professional with a passion for science and deep scientific knowledge. You have a talent for paying attention to details and enjoy leading or supporting activities related to evidence generation (e.g. registries, ISTs, phase 4 studies, or real-world evidence research). You keep patients, payers, and physicians top of mind in your daily work and collaborate to solve critical scientific and business challenges.

Required skills

  • PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant life science discipline
  • Minimum five years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including experience within Medical Affairs; combination of relevant clinical/research experience with pharmaceutical industry experience may be considered
  • Experience supporting evidence generation activities, including registries, investigator-sponsored studies, phase 4 studies, or real-world evidence research
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to scientific publications and congress presentations

Preferred Skills

  • Solid organ transplant experience preferred; experience in immunology, nephrology, or related therapeutic areas will also be considered.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), including presentation skills
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively operate and exert influence within a highly matrixed organization
  • Solid project management skills to include the ability to take initiative to solve complex and challenging problems

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $183,000.00-$252,000.00

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
