About This Role:
In the role of Associate Manager Accounting, you will support the core accounting functions with a primary focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) and Revenue Recognition in line with the ASC606 Revenue Recognition Standard. As part of the Centralized Distribution and Logistic team in Baar, you will oversee the Customer Invoicing process and manage an effective Accounts Receivables collection process. Your role will also involve making appropriate revenue recognition judgments for Biogen International GmbH and Biogen Distribution Services. A strong understanding of accounting policies, guidance, and internal controls is essential, as you'll apply Customer Contract terms and conditions in revenue recognition. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining a compliant, efficient, and well-controlled financial environment, ensuring the integrity of our financial operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage and oversee the invoice and collection process in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Apply customer receipts and reconcile AR Aging with the General Ledger.
  • Support Customer inquiries related to invoices and payments, while monitoring and following up on outstanding balances.
  • Review and/or prepare General Ledger entries with a focus on AR, Revenue, and distribution costs.
  • Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations in accordance with SOP.
  • Support the international revenue recognition process, including Month Forward Coverage review and preparation of quarterly Gross-to-Net Deductions Analysis.
  • Conduct revenue cutoff procedures and last-day sales analysis, issuing deferral instructions as needed.
  • Prepare International AR Aging Analysis reports and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) presentations for executive leadership.
  • Assist with both external and internal audit inquiries, ensuring SOX internal control requirements are met.
  • Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties, including reviewing judgments around revenue recognition under applicable accounting guidance.

With excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, you excel in articulating complex financial concepts. You are passionate about maintaining financial integrity and are adept at navigating the intricacies of accounting and revenue recognition.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of international accounting experience, including AR and revenue recognition.
  • Degree in accounting or finance (Master's is a benefit).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Familiarity and experience with revenue recognition guidelines (e.g., ASC 606).
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits, including SOX compliance and internal control processes.
  • Proficiency with an ERP system (Oracle or SAP).
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Skills:

  • Additional qualifications in accounting (ACCA/CIMA exams preferred, National Association of Accountants) will be an asset.
  • Previous experience in a multinational organization.
  • Expertise in financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives.

The base compensation range for this role is: zł140,000.00-zł187,250.00
